Gift Registry that Gives Back

Recommended Posts

We registered for gifts through I Do Foundation: Celebrate Generously

Basically, your guests have to go through this website to get to your wedding registries. There are several stores you can choose from and we chose Target, Amazon and Mikasa. A certain percentage of the money spents on gifts that your guests buy will go to the charity of your choice. We don't think we'll get too many gifts and have asked that people not feel obligated to buy us anything since they are spending so much on travel. But at least some money can be donated to charity and it costs nothing to us or our guests!

Just thought I'd share. I just really liked this idea.

This is great! FI and I were talking about this last night because I mentioned since we didn't think we wanted to register (because of guest travel cost) we should have them donate in our name. He didn't really like that idea so this seems like a happy medium!

On our website, we wrote, "Your presence is present enough." But we have lots of guests who won't make it and will probably want to buy us a small gift. We have a lot of co-workers who won't be traveling to our wedding as well. So we wanted to have options and this just seemed like a great idea. You can choose any charity you like. There are limitations to where you can register though.
