Any 2012 brides out there?

My travel agent said she can base the rates on this year and it may go up $50 or so but it will give you a general idea of what to expect.

You are not alone, I am also a 2012 Bride! We got engaged in Sept 2010. We are getting married at the Punta Cana Princess, April 21st-28th 2012!

It seem like sooo far away I know, and it's because it really is haha! But it gives us tons of time to really plan everything perfectly, and also gives our guests

tons of time to save! We sent out our "save the dates" already, they were fridge magnets and everyone loved them! For our actual invitations to Punta Cana we are making messages in a bottle! I can't wait to see how they turn out

Yay!!! I am so happy to find other 2012 brides!! I am planning my wedding for July 21, 2012 at Iberostar Rose Hall Suites in Montego Bay Jamaica. Now I feel so much better to know that I am not the only one out there planning my wedding for 2012. I feel like its great to have so much time to plan and get ideas. Congrats to all the 2012 bride-to-bes!!! I too am planning ahead!! My fiance and I are planning to get married at RIU Palace Punta Cana May 2012!!! When did you guys book the ceremony? I'm doing a religious wedding and I know they get booked fairly quickly.  So just wondering how early you girls are going to book your ceremony?  Happy Planning to everyone!!!

I went ahead and booked my date at the resort in Jamaica already, July 21, 2012. The resort I am getting married at only does one wedding per day so I wanted to make sure we would get the date we wanted. But we are taking a trip to Jamaica in May 2011 just to confirm everything. There is no penality fee if we choose to cancel because our ceremony will only be a symbolic ceremony, we plan on getting legally married at home right before we leave for Jamaica.

Hey ladies,

 

I'm tying the knot in early 2012! We're looking at Mexico, DR, and Jamaica.

It's a bit complicated because it's an interfaith wedding (Hindu + Catholic), so we have a lot of requirements that don't fit into the packages the resorts provide.

We're planning for about 150 guests. Does anyone have any suggestions about what a good all-inclusive resort fit might be?

Are any of you using a planner?

Personally, I love to plan and with the help of this site it is making things very easy.  Since you are planning for a lot of people you may want to go for a bigger resort that can accomodate you for both the wedding, reception and your stay.  I haven't looked into DR or Jamaica as most of our guests have been to either or, so we choose Mexico because of that.  Also, since we have quite a few older persons that will be traveling we choose a location that wouldn't be too taxing on them and looked into resorts that are no more than 15-20 mins from the airport.

I am hoping to also have a 2012 wedding! We are thinking Jan/Feb 2012 in Cancun. My first choice is Moon Palace, but they won't book anything until after the New Year. I have to admit, it all seems very daunting...I don't even know where to start! The one thing I will be doing is sending out STD as soon as we get a date in the form of a "message in a bottle". Our list so far is 90 people, but I know it will be more like 50 or under. Whew! I'm already starting to get a headache thinking about all the things that I have ahead of me! Haha!

We are 2012!  April 21st in Maui!  Glad to see that there are others that are in the same boat as us!

 

We would have liked to have a shorter engagement but wanted to give our guests and ourselves adequate time to save to come to the wedding.  We refuse to be in debt after our wedding!

 

Originally, we were looking at January, but April is less crowded and less expensive, so we have settled and booked our date!

Feb 24, 2012 planning starts January 1 for DR Punta Cana. My fiance and I decided to give ourselves time to plan and save some money. Our guest are excited and can't wait to receive our save the dates. I will mail those out Mar 1, 2011. Airline prices will not be uploaded until mid-January.

 

Still debating on Dreams Palm Beach or The Paradisus. I've seen pictures from weddings and they both look beautiful. My only reservation is that Dreams offers more bang for my buck. HELP!!!
