I'm sorry if this should be in another thread, but I'm confused on what colours to choose for the wedding. I was dead set on having a deep (grape jelly) purple for the bridesmaids and using pink as an accent colour but my FI has recently mentioned he'd like baby blue on his side and I'm not sure those two colours work.

In thinking about what colours would work, I'm now wondering I'd rather hot pink for bridesmaids with teal/orange accents.

I'm horrible at picking colour combinations so very confused... any help woudl be great.

this is what I do know....

I like..

purple

teal/blue

pink

and want the colours to reflect fun, vibrant beach like feel!

the guys will be wearing khaki pants

how do I put it all together??

Cheers,

This was a hard one for me too. I thought I had my colors all figured out and then I changed them....Twice! I got alot of good inspiration from going on theknot and looking at wedding by color. I still haven't put my colors in stone but I have a petty good idea. It might be too dull for you, but all of the colors you like would go great with natural colors like browns, tans, and earthy colors. Keep in mind what color you want your dress to be (ivory/white) and go from there. Also think of skin tones and how you want the wedding party to look. What do you want the wedding to feel like. You could always pair one with an earthy color, them integrate the other colors in other parts of the wedding. Flowers are a good way to do that and centerpieces. Like I said, look at pics and see what gives you an emotional response or is pleasing to your eye. Hope my 2 cents help

I've changed my wedding colors 3 times before finally choosing THE ONE!

I originally like deep purple like you with lime green.

I then chose turquoise with orange.

And finally, I've decided on turquoise and fuschia.

I think we are along the same lines as far as colors go.

I personally cannot see baby blue with purple but that's just my thought.

Maybe one of the color combos above can work for you guys. Its all about compromise.

Why don't you buy a couple sample swatches and play with what you think may work?

Good luck and let us know what your final decision is :)

I'm using dark purple with green. It worked out perfectly for the flowers that I wanted (which is what my colors were chosen around). I don't think (with a destination wedding) that you have to go with traditional color combos. If you like the deep purple, pair it with a bright, punchy color, even the baby blue would look great!

Oh and I am doing a palette of blues from light blue to Navy... I am giving my Bridesmaids a bit of creative freedom with the colors, then we are giving them all Pink flowers to bring the similar element in.... I love the idea of mixing it up and that way I dont have to stick with just one color. Also what was great with that for me is that when I was buying other elements for the wedding it was so easy to match up other things with my color selections!! (There was always some shade of blue that matched :) ) Keep us posted on your findings and Good Luck again :)
