Program or No Program?

This is a picture of the programs. Just one sheet, nice and simple and cheap! Then we used the stamp on 200 cocktail napkins and stamped the word "begins" and the date below it for cocktail hour. FI's nieces were super excited to help out and stamp them all. Which is good because I don't know if I would have been super thrilled to stamp 600 times lol

THis looks great! The stamp looks very professional too. I bet mine will be stamped crooked or something with my luck. But I will probably make a run to Michael's on the wknd anyway and check it out. Thanks!!

we had 35 guests, and decided programs weren't required. we didn't have a bridal party, musicians or soloists or anyone like that to be introduced in a program. we didn't have a super traditional ceremony either - no religious customs or traditions to incorporate that our guests needed to know what was going on.

we had 1 reading a friend did, and the minister announced her and asked her to come forward, and then one affirmation from our guests that the minister also read. they'd get thrown away in the end no matter what...so it seemed like a waste to me. the ceremony went really smoothly without it!

all of that said - whether or not you "need" a program totally depends on the type of ceremony you are planning, and how elaborate you want to be.

I made my programs from a pk of $10 clearance invites from Michaels. 50 programs for $10. Printed and added a bow. Voila! Def not a necessity but a nice touch. And I know that they will get thrown out right after but it was either use the invites or make the trek back to michaels to return them. Lol. I took the creative lazy route.

Canada05, awesome idea. I am thinking we will do something from word on heavier paper as well. Like others, I've also heard that some resorts print a mini agenda for your guests (for free)...This likely depends on the resort.

With the fans, i've seen the ones that collapse which are easiest to pack for people; where did you guys get the rafia fans ladies? Were they difficult to pack? We are expecting 35-40 people...
