I made programs for my upcoming wedding.  I made them myself (well with the help of my wonderful sister in law and mother in law), and they really were pretty easy to make.  I bought Raffia fans from Orientaltrading.com, got some ribbon from Michaels and wrapped the handle of each fan in ribbon, used hot glue to keep it in place.  I also purchased silk orchids from Michaels which I pulled the bud off from the stems (they just popped right off), and hot glued that onto the base of the handle.  I designed a simple program on Microsoft Word, printed them up on pearlized paper, and use glue dots to affix them to a pretty colorful cardstock paper, and hot glued that onto the fan.  It was a piece of cake to do it all, and so much cheaper than buying pre-made fans.  I basically just copied it from some sellers on Etsy - they go for about $4.50 - $5.00 each when you get them from Etsy vendors.  I did it for about $2.00 each.  It's adding a lovely touch to beach wedding we're having.  Can't wait for them to be handed out to guests!  By the way, I decided to do 1 program per couple, rather than one for every person.

Great idea! Ive seen these and they are absolutely gorg. I am sad b.c I jumped the gun and bought the folding style fans. I think I will just have to do the programs separately...

NBulldog, thanks so much for the idea. I'm also doing the raffia fans but didn't want to do ceremony programs but thought i would just because I wanted a place to write something to my late grandmother. I will be borrowing this idea. Thanks

I'm still undecided, mostly everyone in our group know each other and I keep thinking do I need the extra work in making them and carrying them with me. In saying that I love the fan idea and have seen some lovely pictures on Pinterest that incorporate the program into that, I still have a good while to decide yet.

I made programs (with help from future SIL and nieces!) at home in Word and printed it on a little heavier paper. I bought a really cute stamp from Michaels that says "Happily Ever After" and we stamped the bottom in blue (colour of the wedding) and I think they look really nice and simple. Cost was next to nothing and I think it's a nice thing, I know when I sit at weddings before they start, I'm pretty bored and I like to have something to look over and read.

Do you have a photo you can post? I'm in need of inspiration for my programs. I bought cheap invites from Michaels and was going to use for program but it doesn't allow for much text. Now I'm nervous and want to try somehting else but don't know what.
