I agree with Nem, just say you already have one. You run into hurting their feelings that way too though because they would expect you to pick one over the other.

You can always just 'forget' to pack it and then be upset and say you are sorry at the wedding. That solves it without anyone getting hurt. I hate to say it, but this little white lie wont hurt anyone worried2.gif

I went for my final dress fitting yesterday and it didn't fir :(((( The seamstress said that it may be because it is that time of the month for me and she wants me to go back next week. It was a very sad day ... I wanted to bring my dress home sooooooooooooo bad.

I so agree!!!! I usually just KIH (keep it honest) but I understand you not wanting to hurt their feelings.

Options:

1. Forget to pack it. Make a whole production of it the day of the wedding so that its believable lol. You will still need to explain how you forgot theirs but just happen to have another.

2. Make changes to the one that they have given you.

3. Buy what you want and tell them "I really liked the one you made but when I saw this one I fell in love and had to have it!!!" They will not want to interupt your happiness.

4. Wear the one you want to the ceremony, but take pictures in both so that they will still feel like you love theiri gift.

I would probably pick #3. Good Luck!

Its a tough spot to be in.......but as I have grown older I have discovered more on making myself happy and not worrying sooooooo much about doing what "others" want me to do.

Its a super tough spot, but look at the anxiety you are going through wanting to please them and feel uncomfortable at your own wedding.

I understand that once in awhile you should do for others, I am not saying that...

What I am saying is that it is your day.....Make it your day!!

I believe the hard core truth can and usually is HARSH, I dont believe a lil white lie is harmful when you use it to spare others feelings.

I could be opening a can of worms here, but you reached out and I wanted to let you know that I do not think you should have to wear it.

Gently tell them that you had purchased or made one without knowing you were getting one for the shower and hadnt found a way to tell them that and it has taken you this long because you have had such anxiety about it and not wanting to let them down and its important to you that they feel appreciated for what they have done...........I think they will understand completely.

Anywayz ladies, that just my lonely opinion.... blink.gif

That is actually a good idea. i never considered saying that I already bought one. I am definitely going to have to think about that.

Wow thank you for four options. Thank you all for your help. It looks like you all agree that if i don't like it and feel uncomfortable in it, I should find a way break it gently.

Hi all,

So I only have 20 minutes till we have to leave for the airport but I couldn't leave without saying thanks to you all for your wonderful company over the last few months. Good luck to you all over the next few weeks.

I'll keep you posted with how things go!
