Courtney that cruise sounds just amazing! What a wonderful thing to look forward to after the wedding. I've heard great things about Dubrovnik, really up and coming as a tourist region now.

You'll have to share pictures on your return!

Congratulations ladies on your 6-month anniversary, passed and coming up! cheers.gif

I'm not sure we're doing anything specific as my mother will be visiting us. We may all go to Atlantic City to celebrate Mother's Day and our 6-month anniversary all rolled into one I guess; that's something on our agenda. We haven't really thought about our one-year anniversary yet. Life has sort of given me some whiplash currently as my father passed away at the end of March. So it has been quite a ride, combining happy newlywed life with the sorrow of losing a parent.

Anyway, I wish you all continued happiness and wonderful celebrations at 6 months, 9 months, and one year as well as every month in between! And I will be checking in every now and then to see what's going on. embarrest.gif

Oh Pucca - I am so sorry to hear about your father.  Thank goodness you have your new husband by your side to help you get through such a tough time.  Now that you have been through some of the "for worse", I can only hope that you and your husband get to experience some of the "for better" in the future.  My heart goes out to you...

Eun-sil, I am so sorry to hear about your father. I don't even have words to express my sympathy. I'm very glad that you can look back on your wedding day and recall happy memories of your father. And I'm glad for you that you have a wonderful husband to support you through this hard time. Like Courtney, my heart goes out to you. Hope there are many good things just around the corner for you, I am sure there are.

So sorry to hear about your father Pucca.  What a rough thing to have to go through after having such joyous moment not too long before that.  Like Joanne said I hope you have wonderful memories of him from your wedding day.  Hoping the road ahead is full of only joy and happiness for you and your husband.  Enjoy Atlantic City with your mother if you guys end up going!!

I am not sure how everyone else feels about being newlyweds but I am going to guess things are still great and wonderful for all of us.  So I am wondering....have you guys been getting negative comments from others who have been married for many years or are divorced?  All I hear from them is "just wait" or "talk to me in 5 or 10 years" or "those things won't last".  I am so happy and on cloud 9 still and I feel like everyone just wants to bring me down.

Last week I was in France for work and it happened to be our 3 yr anniversary of being together.  David surprised me by sending me a dozen red roses to my hotel room.  It was so amazing and he went through so much effort trying to get it done.  I was so happy and giddy and it was such a great feeling.  And then I had about a handful of people say negative things like what I wrote above.  I just don't get it.  Even if that is the case and the romance and the spontaneous actions like that will stop as the years go on....why not just shut up and let me enjoy it now instead of telling me how bad it will be in a few years.  Geez

Sorry ladies...I had to vent.  It has been happening to me so much lately and its not like I am going around talking about me and David and how wonderful my marriage is.  I am just very happy and when I'm asked how married life is going I seem to just light up and have a big smile on my face and say things are great.  I don't understand people sometimes.  Maybe they just want others to be miserable if they are.

Ok enough of all that negative stuff.

Have a wonderful 6th month anniversary everyone!!!!

Thank you ladies. I appreciate all your kind words.

And yes Taryn, I have heard all those negative comments. And yes, it's really annoying to hear them. I don't know why people have those comments but perhaps it's because they feel like they're giving us a dose of "reality". Or perhaps it is because some people married people they shouldn't have but didn't know it at the beginning, so their disenchantment is being generalized. Or, my hubby tells me it's because some people are envious and want to throw that dart our way. In any event, we have made a commitment to make every effort to keep things just as wonderful as they are now after 3 years of dating even if we know that there will be challenges thrown our way (and we've had quite a few). And I'm confident that I won't be one of those people 5 or 10 years down the road who see newlyweds and tell them those negative things. And I'm sure you ladies won't either! So just enjoy yourself and disregard any negative commentary. There's no room for that in married life! :)

Hello Ladies!

I am so sorry I have been so busy and not able to get back here very often! We have been so busy since the wedding with the holidays then finding out that we were pregnant! I just wanted to stop in and say I hope everyone has been having the most amazing last 6 months! Can't believe it's already that long haha. Congrats to you all!

Joanne Congrats on the baby... so happy for you guys! Hope all of the baby prep is going well. And I hope you are feeling well!

Pucca I am very sorry for your loss! At least your Dad will look down on you now and know that he has left you in good hands with the man that you love!

SxcT... don't even worry about all of those negative comments! You guys are doing amazing and some people just can't imagine that life can be amazing for other people when they can be so miserable! Personally James and I are going on 7 years of being together and I love him more every single day! For us the wedding just made us a "legal" couple... not one bit has changed for the negative! We are the happiest we have ever been and are now expecting our little baby girl in October!

Happy 6 month anniversary to everyone!!!!

Taryn, that is unfortunate that you are recieving so many negative comments. Personally it sounds like jealousy to me. You have so many wonderful things happening at the same time for you, and it's sad that some people can't be totally happy for you and try to take a little from you. Don't let them though!! Enjoy every second of this wonderful time.

You got married to what seems like an amazing man, had a true dream wedding in Mexico, looked out of this world fantastic, both of you got promotions, you are building your first home together from the ground up, you are traveling to Europe and your husband is sending you flowers in France. How many people have so many wonderful exciting things going on at the same time? Don't let anyone or anything bring you down from that high!! As I said it sound like envy, and hey in 5, 10, 15 plus years you can prove them all wrong when you and David are just as much in love!

Some people can just be so rude. When we told people we were pregnant, you wouldn't believe the first thing out of so many people's mouth, even before they said congrats, when are you due, how are u feeling etc .... we had so many people say "were you pregnant when you got married?".  Yes, getting pregnant happened really quickly for us, a month after legal wedding, 2 weeks after Mexico wedding, but even if it was before or right around the time, what are people thinking asking that straight out as their first response? Even people who were in Mexico and knew I was drinking down there!

And yes I agree with your comment, misery certainly loves company. Mike and I are over the moon, we had an amazing wedding in Mexico, wouldn't change a thing about it, are closer than we have ever been, and can't wait for our baby to arrive, but yes we've had those no gooders with their nasty comments about enjoying it now while it lasts. I choose to feel sorry for them that they are obviously not in a relationship with someone who loves them as much as my husband loves me and vice versa!

Congratulations on your baby news!! How exciting for you guys!

Baby prep is going well but a little overwhelming, I guess there is a reason pregnancy is so long to give you a chance to prepare! Nursery furniture was delivered yesterday, oh boy was I in floods of tears or what, LOL! I am feeling great, although starting to slow down a bit now. Just over 11 weeks to go.

Enjoy all the milestones, so exciting to experience the "first" of everything. Can your husband feel the kicking now? My husband did for the first time about 9 weeks ago, and then about 4 weeks ago we started seeing my tummy move. Now that is an amazining experience! Best of luck to you and keep me posted. There is a pregnancy part to this forum too.

Congrats again!
