Hi All

 

Just out of curiosity - has anyone ever done just a cocktail reception instead of having the traditional sit down dinner? I think perhaps this might be an option just to keep things casual and fun - get everyone intermingling... not sure if anyone has done this before and how that would work with the wedding packages in lieu of the plated dinner...?

Hi everyone! I am getting married at Now Jade on May 17th and am in the process of booking of rooms. I am torn if we should book with a group rate and hope that I have 10 rooms booked or if we should just book directly through Apple Vacations. How did everyone book? Also, what room did you book and did you get the upgrade? The wedding package says that the bride and groom get an upgraded room but I am not sure what room to book and what room we would be upgraded to. Thanks in advance for the help!!

I am a new Now Jade bride getting married on May 17th. We are in the process of booking of our rooms and are unsure if we should sign the contract for the group rates and hope we have 10 rooms booked or just go directly through Apple Vacations. What have you guys done? Also, in the package it says that based on availability we will have a room upgrade. What room should we book and what should we expect for our upgrade? AMResorts currently has a 3G promo going where you book 5 rooms get the 6th free.  We are also able to lock in upgrades and other amenities in the group contract.  We have TA's on here that are destination wedding specialists and Apple is usually our last resort in which supplier to use.

I am actually already in touch with Wendy who has been incredibly helpful. My concern is putting a deposit down for 10 rooms but not having them all booked. Some people have already told me that they are going to book on their own or through apple because they have found better prices since it is all bundled. I am definitelt booking through Wency just not sure if we should do the group rate contract. Thank you!

Hi Everyone!!!!

I just got married on Saturday the 13th and everything was PERFECT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I wish that I would have listened to other brides and not stressed beforehand because it was really a waste!

Pilar is AWESOME!!!! Don't fret if she isn't getting right back to you because when you get there you get ALL her attention.  She makes sure all your needs are met and everything goes off without a problem. We had 55 guests and everyone was saying it was the best wedding ever.  I'm on my honeymoon, but when I return I will write a detailed review and  post pics.  Derek Campbell was my photographer and I totally understand why he is rated #3 in Cancun. Lorena his assistant was AWESOME too and if anyone is thinking of using her for makeup and hair, I would say go for it! We had Alex as our DJ and he was FANTASTIC!! My gusts were so pumped they continued the party in the sports bar and we shut it down!!  ok I'm rambling but PLEASE feel free to e-mail me with any questions before I post my actual review.  ADIOS!!!!

Hello! I know there are a ton of other great reviews on this place, so I will keep mine short and to the point. AWESOME!!! I debated on many many resorts, but I am glad we went with this one. For the value and what you get, it really is a great choice. It's nice and modern, everything updated, and the staff is so freaking nice! Ana, the wedding coordinator was great once I got there. She made sure all of the items I brought, which were 3 suitcases full, were used correctly. I printed pictures of how I wanted the tables to look like, and a picture for the paper lanterns as well. She took notes and paid close attention. I was a little worried before I got there because she was slow in responding to my emails. But I was in her office and looked at her email in box, and it is to maximum capacity! They are so busy there with wedding after wedding! With that in consideration once I got there, she was all about me and my wedding. I would recommend having a meeting with the DJ. I didn't and apparently he never got my list of must play songs. If you don't have time to have a meeting, just email Ana you song list and she will give it to him. Ana emailed him the list of first dance songs, etc... but the list of 'what to play and not play' never got to him. Nonetheless the reception was awesome. We got married on the beach by the Mix Bar (Blue beach bar). That's the best beach spot because the other one was right in front of the adults infinity pool and bar. Which means you will have a lot of drunk, loud people watching your wedding. Our cocktail hour was at the Mix Bar. Which was great. I brought my IPOD and they played our play list. The appetizers were nice, and the bartenders are great! The reception was in the bamboo room. We had 22 people, and it was a perfect size. We all sat at one long table, and there was plenty of room for dancing and the DJ. The bamboo room has 2 walls of glass, but they have sheer curtains they pull down for privacy, that is really nice. The food was great! And the waiters you get really are on the ball. We kept asking for shots, so they made one big pitcher of shots and constantly refilled them! They even entertained us with balancing trays of drinks on their heads! lol Angel did my hair and makeup. And I literally cannot say enough about how awesome he was! I took a picture of what I wanted, and he made it happen! I had several test runs in the US with the same picture, and no one could get it right. But Angel got it right on the first try. I highly recommend him! Tip him please! He also did my makeup (which is what he went to school for). Considering the morning of the wedding I woke up with a severely peeling forehead, he worked a miracle! He blended everything together. I brought a bunch of Sephora water proof makeup, etc... for the wedding, and i didn't use any of it! He used him stuff and it stayed on through sweat, tears, humidity and cake smashing! Lets see.... they pressed my dress nice, my flowers were perfect... Overall it was a relaxing, fun day! It was more than we ever expected, we feel truly blessed. We just booked our wedding there and kids between 2 and 12 were about $350 less than adult double occupancy rate.

Hi Micaela,

 

I'm having a wedding there in january and so far the planning's been easier than I thought it would be. We have about 40 guests and chose to do the ceremony at the Pergola (outdoor but more private than the beach) and then the ocean front terrace for dinner. They seem to be able to accomodate for any size group, so you could do outddor I'm sure. Happy planning
