To give your guest a little piece of mind you could let them know that all the big resorts down there are gated with security. We went down in July to do a site visit and there is a guard station at the gate, they check your name before they will let you into the resort area. We felt very safe the entire time we were there. There is crime everywhere you go, you just have to be a smart traveler and you'll be fine. :) I hope this helps!

Hi Christie

Thank you and I couldn't agree with you more re crime is anywhere. My in-laws are hesitant to go and I'm just trying to figure out how else to convince them that they should go.  Fingers crossed I'm able to do so!

And.... I had a huge fight with the future inlaws about the crime. but as I said, there is crime anywhere, and as long as you aren't out looking for trouble down there, then you will be fine! It's sad that your people are harassing you about this. You take a chance of something happening to you the minute you walk out of your home.... you only live once, and you should see as much of the world as possible.... and it's your day, so you guys do what you want! :)

Well eventually my inlaws came to their senses, b/c they aren't going to miss their son's wedding. And we both were on the same side, so they knew there was no turning back. Especially since they knew our plans, they just chose to make a big deal about it after we put our deposits.  Don't worry, they will go. They might throw a fit, but they'll be there. And they will have the times of their lives!

Thanks for the info on the gates!  Very nice to know and hopefully it will give the worry warts some peace of mind!  Thanks - Jen

Hi ladies,

Does anyone have a website or email address for the florist whose flowers are included in the packages? Anyone know how flexible they are in terms of switching up the flowers (we don't want boutonniers or bridesmaids bouquets but would like to use those flowers for other things).

Thanks!
