Our Jamaica Wedding Experience

I had always dreamed of getting married on the beach, barefoot in the sand in front of the ocean at sunset. When we got engaged I could not wait for this dream to come true. Little did I know, I would meet an amazing woman who would make my dreams a reality.

 

We knew we were going to have a destination wedding, but did not realize how expensive it was. It was only going to be the two of us with our Best Man and Maid of Honor. I was discouraged with what I was finding online. We did not want all the fancy stuff with dinners and cakes and decorated chairs. We just wanted to get married on the beach. The simplest wedding packages I did find would include the things we didn’t want and we still had to pay for them. Even if we did not get them because it was a package you still had to pay the same price. Wow, talk about a stressed bride! I decided to start searching on the internet to see if I could find a private Wedding Planner.

 

Then I found her, my angel on earth DawnSherman with Jamaica Elegant Weddings. From the start I was a little nervous and uncertain. You hear of things on the internet sometimes being a scam or to good to be true. From the start I felt Dawn was too good to be true, which made me more nervous. Over time I gained more and more trust in Dawn and we became like family.

 

Anything I wanted Dawn would say “No Problemâ€, it’s your day, don’t worry I will take care of everything for you. Right from the start she was always there for me, and would answer every question I had usually the same day and trust me I had a lot of questions. She was very prompt and professional yet very personable like family. When she said she would take care of everything she meant it and she did. Any worries I had were always gone after my email’s from Dawn. Even when she didn’t receive the cheque we sent her by registered mail, Dawn would say “don’t worry, you can pay me when you get here, really it’s No problemâ€. I don’t think there was anything that I could throw at Dawn that she could not handle. She even referred a photographer to us Digital Memories, who we used for a video and beautiful pictures. I really started looking forward to hearing from her, and sometimes would send her an email just to say hi and because I missed her. Who would know someone you had never met could make you feel this way.

 

My husband was just as impressed with Dawn as I was, as in the beginning he had the same reservations as I did. Needless to say they were quickly overcome, and we were both looking forward to meeting her. She even put my sister in law at ease when we requested to get picked up early so we would have some time to take some pictures.

 

When we got to Jamaica, I was excited and looking forward to meeting Dawn the next day. She promptly called us at our resort the next morning to say hi and make sure everything was ok. Wow to hear her voice brought happy tears to my eyes. I couldn’t wait to give her the biggest Canadian hug I could. The day we finally meet and hugged it was like family, just as we had already become. We wanted her to remember us as well, as we know she meets so many people that we didn’t want her to forget us. We bought her some seeds to plant in her garden, they are flowers called “Forget Me Not†and we hope she won’t. We also wanted to bring her a gift from our home in Manitoba Canada so every time she sees it she will remember us. We want to be as unforgettable to her as she is to us.

 

When our day came it was as perfect as we knew it would be, there was nothing more we could have asked for. Dawn even brought the sunshine for us like she said she would. I wanted tropical flowers so Dawn made a beautiful bouquet for me and my maid of honour with tropical flowers from her garden. I also asked if she could put my Maid of Honor’s favorite flower in our bouquets Ginger Lilly’s and she did.

 

The saddest part of our trip was having to say goodbye to Dawn. I miss her smile, and her laugh, and her email’s. I have heard from her though, and sent her some pictures of us which she says she will cherish just like we will. I am getting chocked up just writing this and thinking of Dawn and how amazing she really is. Dawn is truly a special person who genuinely loves what she does, and is amazing at it. I am so glad we found her and would highly recommend her to anyone and everyone. Everyone should have a day as special as ours was and everyone should have the blessing of meeting Dawn. We will always keep in touch with Dawn as she is our Jamaica family. We love her and miss her, and the next time we go to Jamaica we will be sure to let her know so we can see her again.

Congratulations on your wedding. Sounds like you had a great time.

 

Dawn also arranged my sister's wedding last August and we were all pleased and well satisified with her services. I do agree ,she is really a sweet person, very easy to deal with and will provide you with everything you dreamed of a reasonable price.

 

We really had a good time and has already made arrangements and confirmed for our next visit for my sister's 1st wedding anniversary.

I must agree with you on everything you have said about Dawn, she is truly a gem. She has been very good in helping us with everything we need and answering our many questions promptly, she really put our minds at ease.

Our wedding experience with Dawn was wonderful too. She did a fantastic job for us.

She was very good in helping us with everything and answering our many questions prior to our big day and really put us at ease.She decorated our wedding area nicely, our cake, the food was so delicious and our video and photos are the best.

 

 We all had a great time, our entire trip was wonderful and we couldn't have asked for a better wedding.  We will be more than happy to answer your questions also.
