Insuring your Engagement Ring

My ring is insured through Allstate as well. We recieved a discount for insuring the car, the apartment and the ring all through the same compnay. I think we pay an extra $3 or $4 a month for the ring insurance.

Also ask your insurance agent questions about what is covered and what is not. Some will only cover the ring if its lost in the home or have other stipulations. I actually added it as "scheduled" item and this covers the entire ring no matter where its lost or stolen. It costs a bit more, but you never know when things can happen.

I finally got insurance for my e-ring! I can't believe I've waited this long. Anyway I bought it from Jewelers Mutual - I like the idea of a company that specializes and has no deductible. Anyway, for those of you who haven't done this yet - just a friendly reminder!

My ring is going to be under my FI's home owners insurance in the US. State Farm or something.

My friend who is visting has a beautiful royal ascher ring. I love her ring. We were talking about insurance & she said she was told it was so expensive that in a few years you had spent as much as the ring costs. I guess the person who told her that had gotten a bad quote.
