Sax Lady
not sure if this is the right place. so please move if needs to. Hello everyone, I wasnt planning on doing a cocktail hour but I have been thinking the last couple of days of doing maybe a candy bar and chocalote fountian with fruit for a cocktail hour. WHat do you think? We are only having about 20ppl total with us included. (our two kids in that total). Our wedding is at 4pm and I'm trying to get us to have dinner at one of the restuarants at 6 or 6:30. thought this might be something good and not as expensive. I will bring all my own stuff for the candy bar, just need a table and then I thought why not have the resort have some fruit just to have a little bit more. Haha it sounds good in my head. DWbridetobe
That sounds like a great idea! You know that everyone is going to fill up with sweets though, and then dinner will be spoiled! lol
tracy0716
I LOVE candy and really wanted to do the same thing but like DWBridetobe said it might be too much sweets for before dinner. You might want to try to move your cocktail party to one of the bars. This way your guests can hangout if you're taking pics or you can mingle with them and enjoy some beverages before dinner. Just an idea. Good luck!
Sax Lady
thanks ladies. Yeah I thought about that to. Well I actually was thinking of doing something very small since I will be supplying the candy haha, but I also thought about a regular cocktail hour where you have food and then people go to dinner and eat more food and it doesnt spoil dinner to much. so this was just a comprise. and most of the guest are not drinkers so I dont know if the bar will work. but I will try and but some more thought in it. mnh1983
I think it is a cute idea! If you are afraid of the guests eating too many sweets, maybe you could have more of the fruit and less of the candy? I think as long as you remind people that you're going to dinner, most of them will hold off on gorging themselves on the candy.
Tennyt1
This is a great idea....but do you really want to travel with extras? I'm trying to limit what I have to bring. I think I'm going to even puchase my welcome bag goodies in Jamaica.
theend903
That's true, it is more stuff to carry. But I know at the resort I'm going to it would be an extra $600 to have the cocktail hour with food. I say go for it and bring the candy with you. I love the chocolate fountain idea.

Leez309
That's such a cute idea. especially if your group doesn't drink much. I say go for it and have fun, sugar high and all!
Sax Lady
Micas- I am getting married aug 20th at Breezes Trelwany in JA. thanks ladies. I'm not doing oot bags so I wont be bringing to much extra with me anyway. I was thinking about only doing maybe 3-or4 different jars of hard candy(very small bar) and then seeing what types of fruits that the resort could offer. If I decided to do it I will definatly show pics. Well my MOH which is my twin sister actually said that I have to do the chocalote fountain now cause I told her and she can taste the chocalote haha.
