UGHH, bad day!

This is my first vent and it is NOT related to my wedding at all so sorry but I need to vent.

 

My morning started out with my hairdryer blowing up (popping noise followed by smoke) so I decided to McGyver it and and dry/sort of do my hair with my flat iron. Not a great outcome, but okay enough to pull back in a clip and go on with my day.

 

Before getting dressed, I hear the dreaded "hairball hack" to find my wonderful old black cat hurling in the middle of the bedroom floor. Got that cleaned up and made it to work, only 5min late... pretty good all things considered.

 

Work went well, busy morning but nothing bad, other than the usual patient upset that he thought he waited too long (even though he came to clinic an hour before his appt and was seen within 5min of appt time).

 

Phone call from the repairman (washer wouldn't spin), he's en route to the house, run out of clinic just in time to meet him where he quickly evaluates the washer and tells me the part/labor will be $350 to replace a transmission. Who even knew washers had transmissions. Quick conversation with FI, we'll buy a new one, its 12 years old and who knows how long it will live after the transmission replacement. So this afternoon/tomorrow will need to study washers and pick out a replacement. Budget is not going to balance for the wedding savings this month but that'll be okay. We have been sticking to it for the past 3 months.

 

Oh and lets see, this afternoon I have an appt for a bikini wax (and my hairdresser will see my crappy hair for the day)!!

 

Sorry to vent, just needed to get it off my chest.

 

Anyone love (or hate) their washer? I'm open to suggestions; I like the red ones!

If so.. they are awesome! my family always tells me its my space shuttles cuz their so high tec. Noone can figure them out so I dont have to worry about someone breaking them

Yes, just like those. None in stock here, I ended up with white so I could have it delivered Friday (I really need to do laundry this weekend, we are leaving for a trip to Vegas on Monday). FI better learn quickly how to use, he does laundry at least half of the time.

Lady Di- Arent they awesome?! I absolutely love them! Could of done without red, but FI loves red so I thought I would be nice and get his fav color instead of mine

 

Wendyjd- They really arent that hard to figure out! People are just intimidated cuz there used to the old style washer and dryer so when they see my digital setup there like WTF? haha. And boyyy, do I wish FI did laundry every once in awhile.. or even folded a shirt to help out! You are a lucky woman!

If we weren't moving to Hong Kong a week after the wedding - I would be getting these in navy.

 

You seem pretty zen about a day that was probably really frustrating. Congratulations for that! Hope your trip goes well!

Update, washer delivered last night (at midnight, but thats a different story all together). Last load in the washer. I really love it, not difficult to operate at all. It spins out so much water that my old dryer (which I didn't replace, I'd rather spend $$ on the wedding) seems to work so much better. Gotta pack tomorrow then off to Vegas (for work, but FI is going so it'll be fun).
