Thanks for that information. I should have looked at the prices before I told friends and family. I know they still do not have prices for 2011.

NP, I looked into it but it gets expensive because it is so far and there are few (if any) direct flights so travel is an all day affair. Check out this website and put in some dummy dates to get an idea for yourself Sandy Lane - Luxury Golf and Spa Resort at St James in Barbados

Honestly, if you have not secured any rooms, etc it is not to late to change! Not to discourage you because BELIEVE ME I was SET on Barbados for a long time, until reality set in. If it were just a he and I wedding, I would still do it there!

But my advice: if you want guests to come, I would reconsider a more economical location...

I considered every island in the Caribbean, including Barbados, but the first thing I did was check airfare and that eliminated about 1/2 of the islands right off the bat. Barbados was one of them unfortunately. I ended up picking Aruba since it's easy to get to with many flights.

I did the same thing when trying to decide MDLady! Aruba ended up being expensive for most of my guests too. My FI and I are from two different states, and have family/friends all over the US so we had to keep accessibility in mind

PrincssScorpion7 - as Diva said, you can get legally married in the US and have the ceremony on whatever island. Most islands have requirements that are annoying so it's easiest to just do it at home. We are getting legally married at home and then just doing the ceremony in Aruba.
