Tux or casual digs for the guys?

Recommended Posts

I have seen the khaki/white shirt look a few times and it looks nice, but for the most part it looks a little to casual to me next to a formal wedding gown.

I want my FI and the guys to wear traditional tuxes, but is that super uncomfortable and unfair? I like the classic look of a tux at a wedding.

We plan to do TTD photos too so maybe we should just save the khakis look for that...

I am so torn. What are your thoughts?

We did the khakis and a short sleeve dress shirt for the guys and my husband wore the same pants and then a long sleeve white shirt.

We were at a wedding last year where the groom wore a suit and he was soaked from sweating! If you do go that route I would make sure each guy has an extra shirt to change into.

I do think a lighter suit would have looked sharp but I know my husband and our groomsmen would have been uncomfortable and with getting married away, I was pretty relaxed about the whole thing. Good luck with your decision.

We did a khaki colored linen suit for DH. He would have killed me if I made him wear a tux on the beach, but really I didn't care as long as he was comfy in the 90% humidity. Tuxes seem a little formal when there are some really nice gray summer wool suits or beige/white linen suits or even black linen suits out there.

In all honesty though it is your day and it needs to look like you picture in your head!
