No you're not the only one. I'm no size 0 any more, but I bought a dress in a size 6 (street size 4) and still had to have 2 inches taken in on the hips. The worst part, I have a 21 inch waste (ridiculously tiny) and size D boobs (thank you grandma) so trying to find a dress was super hard. Nothing fit the way that it should, which made it difficult to really get a good sense of what it was going to look like.

I liked my dress when I bought it, but I didn't fall in love with it until after it was altered. It's almost impossible to tell what it's going to look like if it doesn't fit you.

I can definitly relate. Weighing in at 95 lbs and standing 5'1".. nothing EVER fits right. My dress was too big in the bust area as well and I had to get that taken in. And Hoyt75 a 21 inch waist is like the size of my 4 year old nephews hahaha. At least it seems that way. My waist is 23 inches so I guess I cant really say too much. I'm only an 'A' cup so I cant imagine what it would be like to have my waist and your bust! Guys must be drooling over you girlfran ;P

I could definitely relate. Going dress shopping was so stressful. Whatever dress I tried on had to be held by the girl helping me because the giant clips couldn't hold together that much fabric, LOL. And then the dress was ridicously long, OMG! I finally chose my dress and at my first fitting they had to take so long taking the measurements for the hem because of the excess fabric.

I think my dress was a size of 2. Being barely 5 feet tall sometimes isn't so fun. msnwink.gif

wow you all are tiny! I'm a little taller (5'4) and still a size 0 so I'm a bean pole lol. Definitely will need alterations to my dress. So many people think small people have it easy when fitting into clothes and it's not true! And hoyt75 I know you definitely have a rough time finding dresses to fit! And please make sure to write a review of the Valentin because you are getting married before me (May 1cool.gif. Good luck to everyone!

I have almost the exact same measurements as Islandbride, except I barely make the 5 feet. I really wanted an empire waist, with the fabric opening in the middle (very "flowy") but all the dresses I tried on with that style made me look pregnant. I love the dress I ended up choosing, very fitted and sexy. Just not as beachy as I would have liked.

Add me to this list -- it was a nightmare. It was SO hard to tell what the dresses looked like because of all the clips they had to use. I finalyl got one that I loved - and it is currently being altered right now.

Actually -- island_bride, it's funny -- I saw on the other post that we have the EXACT same dress, so I'm confident that it will look good on both of us, if it's the one we both picked after having the same problem!!

My problem now is that we've been working out, and the place I've lost the most weight is my chest, sooo my already size b boobs, have gotten even smaller. I've got some inserts to stick into the dress though, so hopefully that works! lol

Wow, you are all really tiny. Lucky (or unlucky) for you. I'm not even 5'0", and I had recently lost a lot of weight, so I'm now a size 00P-0P, which I thought was cool, but then now I'm having a tough time shopping in general. I just ordered my wedding dress a couple weeks ago, and luckily, I found one right away, and the store's sample was a 4, so it looked great. The biggest problem I had though was because I'm so freakin' short, most of the styles looked funny on me. I am sure the short girls here can agree, especially if you're short waisted -- most dresses looked ridiculous because the waist of the sample dresses fell lower than my own natural waist. So I tried to stick with fitted A-line dresses -- no ballgowns or too elaborate. My mom was kinda upset cuz she wanted more embellishments, but with a tiny frame, I didn't want the dress to overpower me. I chose Maggie Sottero since they make petite sizes, but they still have to take it in all over.

At this point, I have to start finding a tailor that can alter my every day clothes for cheap. Oh, and I can relate to the chest size thing -- I went down like 3 sizes, but unfortunately, my 34D bra size went down to a 32B/C. Luckily my FI is more of a legs and butt guy!

Where do you all shop for smaller sizes? I'm stuck with Banana Republic and Ann Taylor for now...

I also shop at Banana Republic, the petite section, and Express also makes pants in short sizes and tops in xxs and xs, which is a huge help.

my FI made fun of my size at express because it was a 2 short, and i felt like that's the story of my life, lol. i don't even fit into a 2 anymore, it's gone down to a 0short and sometimes a 00short.
