How about Cuban coffee? Or something else that they are known for? I certainly wouldn't give out cigars. If he is really into them, I would have some at the wedding for those who are interested to enjoy. But I certainly wouldn't give them out to everyone as wedding favors. Especially due to your personal loss. I'm sure your FI will understand.

I love the idea of doing a donation in remembrance of your father, but I agree with most of the posters. I don't think the guests would necessarily appreciate the conflicting favors either. To me it would make the donation worth less or appear that its not a cause you truly value. Maybe talk to your FI and see if he understands. The Cuban coffee is a great idea! Good luck!

oh maaannnn. thats quite the dilemma...

 

first off I am sorry for your loss. sad. Have you talked to your fiance about that and how you don't feel right about it? if he still wants to do that could you compromise perhaps? spend half the money on cigars and half on donations?
