It's so hard to get consistent answers out of them!  This is the response that Chandlyn sent on Feb 17:

I'm sorry that I still have not sent you our notarized paperwork - I have a friend/lawyer that is going to noratize them for us, but I haven't been able to get in to see him yet - otherwise we will have to pay to get it done.  Do you need it right away (like before next week)? It can be sent to us by next week  If so I'll just pay to have someone else do it.  Also, does it have to be signed by a notary, or can it be signed by a commissioner of oaths? It has to be signed by a Notary.

It also had those requirements on the info sheet that Beverly sent out with the package prices.....

ladies, what is the definition of this???? did you guys have to sign the documents with your lawyer???? or is a lawyer signing them all we need???

A notary isn't necessarily a lawyer.  It could also be someone who's licensed by the state to perform acts in legal affairs, such as witnessing signatures.  I've had documents notarized before, and I just took them to my local grocery store's customer service window where a notary was on duty.  I signed the document in front of the notary, who witnessed it, and I think I paid less than $10 for that.  I'm not sure if Canada has notaries....but they sound way cheaper than paying a lawyer:)

On other notes ladies, we received 7 RSVPs for our AHR already!  It's coming up so fast! One of our friends put "Mr. Richard Simmons" for 2 in the name line....LOL!  They even included a picture of him.  No telling who that could be....

Meggers, those clutches are ADORABLE!!!  Where did you get them?  I'd think that your BMs will get lots of use out of those after the wedding.  Great gift!

I almost completely forgot my RANT....

My older sister, whom is about 5 months preggo, told my mom this weekend that she may not come to our AHR due to how close she'll be to delivering....

She's due in June, and the ENTIRE REASON we planned our AHR so soon after we returned was so that she could attend.  She lives 8 hours away, and would have to drive since she won't be able to fly.  This is her second baby, and she had to even be induced for her 1st, so it's not as if she has a history of going into early labor.  Also, we live in large city with great hospitals....it's not like we're asking her to fly to a third world country.  Remind you, this is my sister who, when we were trying to plan a DW to Mexico early on, called me to tell me what dates "worked for her" without my asking.  I'm trying to let it roll off of my back, but seriously.  Grrrrrr.BangHead.gif

Thanks Grey's! I got them from Etsy seller NovaofLove. She has been incredible start to finish. She fully customized those puppies until they were absolutely perfect!!! The flowers are removable so I'm definitely hoping they can use them after the wedding, with the flowers or without. I'm sorry to hear about your sister!! When is your AHR?

Ohhh greysgirl I feel for you. Some people just can't give up the spotlight. I was also given a list of dates that would be "appropriate" for my sister to attend. And she still complains about every aspect.

I hope your AHR is amazing and she regrets ever saying anything about being unsupportive especially when you have gone out of your way.

Greys, that's terrible that you are having to deal with your sister like that.  I am with Mocha, I hope it's fantastic and she regrets saying anything too!

Okay, so I have a rant....

Yesterday was a horrible day for me.  I woke up not feeling right...I was kind of in a mopey mood..  I plugged through the day and then went home.  When I got home, I made a comment to FI (who has been home for almost two weeks now) about the fact that he didn't clean the pan out from dinner the night before, instead just put water in the pan and the rest of the food was now soaking in water (he's very wasteful when it comes to food).  I didn't say it with a 'tude or anything, but he blew up at me!

So, as I'm taking care of things before I have to leave again, I noticed that he did take the time and go through the music list, which he said he wasn't going to because it was a waste of time for him, and no joke, crossed off over half the songs...  We now have one song left for our ceremony, and it's not even the one I had put down that I was going to use to walk down the aisle too!!!!  WTH!  I just pushed it all to the side and walked away.  I didn't have enough ambition to deal with the fact that we basically have NO music now.  UGH!  smile124.gif

Erin, that stinks!! I really just think that sometimes they just dont understand, they dont realize that when we want to get something done, we want it done, so its one less thing to worry about.  Im sure we will all be scrambling by the end of March trying to finish up last minute things. I know I will be!!!!

Lua - if it helps ease some of your stress, to get married in Jamaica, we took our original documents and copies to a lawyer to have them notarized.  Only the FI and I had to be there. The lawyer just signs/stamps/includes a letter verifying that the documents are legit and we are who we say we are.  Hope that helps!
