Lisa - Yah... me too. I'm trying to bring as less down as I can. Especially since I've read up and my airline only lets us have ONE carry on and ONE bag on trips to Mo-Bay. Seriously?!? So my dress counts as my carry on and I have to cram all my carry on stuff into my purse and FI's bag? Not fair. So right now we have centerpieces (that I'm still working on), fans (that will have the programs tied to them), the magazines, menus, etc. it doesn't seem like much but I can see it all adding up quite quickly! And since we'll be down there for 2 weeks I don't want to skimp on clothes just to accommodate wedding stuff.

Ellabaja- I KNOW! I'm so pumped. We did have around $7000 saved up on our own, but most of that was for the wedding. I feel so loved!

Lisa, I have always wanted to try the laser thing, but I'm worried because of my perma-tan skin tone, I wouldn't want to lose pigmentation in areas. You should try the brazilian, no better time than a holiday esp a wedding! Maybe you could just slip the welcome package under everyone's doors so you don't have to pay a delivery fee. I think if you wrap your place cards carefully, and so they don't slide, they should stay attached, just bring the glue gun as a back up.

Tris I am not doing the usual OOT bag either. i have things I want to put in the room and haven't decided how I am going to do that cause it's really just a welcome letter, personalized pen, postcards and a lanyard with waterproof key card/money holder . It doesn't really call for a bag so I may get folders or something to put them in, haven't decided what would be best. We did get bags for the flower girl and ring bearer with beach toys and stuff in them.

Erin I am having the same issues as you. I ordered white knobby starfish to hold my placecards but they are too small and the cards don't hold in all of them so I am going to glue them to the bottom left hand corner of the business size placecard and then stick them in sand so they stand up but  i don't think they will hold up for the trip and I think I may have to do this in Mexico. I also need to attach the ribbon and maraca tags to the maracas when i get there because my grandmother who isn't coming until the day after me has the maracas and she is coming from florida. i just didn't want too much to do at the resort but it looks like a may just have to make a little drinking party out of it with some helpers!

When we bought our house last year it was crazy how much money we spent. We even ended up furnishing the whole thing right away, even though we had planned on doing it slowly. But now that you have your down payment as an amazing gift, it should be a lot easier. I think your magazine is a much better gift than OOT bags. It's truly original.

We were going to do wine bottle stoppers because our fam's are such big winos. But we'll see... Since we started house shopping and have been told by our broker "PENNY PINCH!", the idea of spending around $100 on wine stoppers that everyone has a few of already seems, well, like a bad idea. Omg I've become cheap lately because of this house business! I guess that's a good thing though!! Haha. If we don't do stoppers we will do something. The OOT bag just didn't make sense for us. My family travels all the time so they know what they should all bring, and FI's mom is a pharmacist so she'll have the whole medicine cabinet with her... haha. So if we were to put together OOT bags for everyone I feel like they'd have everything already and it would be kind of a waste. We're doing little things though.. like I said the magazine (which is turning out really cute), and we're upgrading our parents & grandparents without letting them know.

(oh, and super awesome news, FI's parents are GIVING us our down payment as a wedding present. $15,000. love)

I would say it's comparable to underarms just because it's not an area that is frequently exposed and the skin is delicate? Wow, did I just type that?

We are allowed two carry ons and one free bag, so I already plan on jamming my dress and FI's suit into one bag. We're also bringing the bouquets which will be a second carry on. I hope we get priority boarding so there's enough space! FI has already accepted that we will be paying the extra $20 for a few people to have a second bag. I also figure that a lot of stuff won't come back, so maybe I will just have to buy more clothes there?

Tris...Yay you!! That's great news.  Hope all goes well, like I said we have been looking forever (it feels like) and still haven't found THE house.  It's so hard when you think about how big of a decision it is.

Glad to hear everyone else makes those 'comments' too.

Lisa & Tris, I don't want to be taking down alot either.  I jsut have a few things for the OOT bags but my huge concern was with luggage weight.  Luckily I have a 2 yr old that isn't going to require alot of luggage space.  And my dad is pretty low maintenance too so I am just going to spread it out between my family and hopefully it all gets there fine.  FI has VERY bad luck with losing bags so I don't want to put anything at all in his suitcase.

They should give Brides an extra bag!!!!

We're not doing OOT bags - but we're giving everyone mugs to use at the resort and a welcome book. Then I was thinking about putting out customized M&Ms for the wedding instead of favours. I think some of the favours that you can get are so cute, but I've been to lots of weddings, and all the favours I ever got are in a pile in a drawer somewhere....I'm trying to be really cautious on what I take down with me.

Just a caution if anyone's never waxed before - I had my legs waxed once and had a horrible reaction to it - all of my pores swelled up like bee stings and my legs were so itchy for days - it was terrible! If you're considering it and you have sensitive skin get a test patch done first to make sure you don't react.

Is anyone else doing a registry? We have been asked several times for one so we went and set one up this weekend...it was fun, but honestly, I think we'd both rather get cash to help pay for the wedding!

We're doing an AHR, which was supposed to be in May or June, but my FI just got a job overseas where he'll be home for 30 days then away for 30 days on a rotation, so we don't know his exact schedule yet so we haven't even started planning the AHR yet. It's going to be like planning a whole wedding again!

Question to all the girls out there who've bought Victoria Secret clothes - I've never tried on their clothes before, we don't have the stores in Canada, but I've found a bunch of stuff I like on their website. Anyways, do the clothes tend to fit on the small or large side (snug or loose)?

Has anyone ordered online? Can you return items that don't fit? Thanks:)

Ok that is terrible about your dad telling his friends that!!

Waxing, i hhave had a brazillian several times and it is painful but not that bad, it is best to try and go somewhere that you know is really good like a friend has recommended etc.  I have had my legs waxed twice and i think the pain is horrendous specifically up the front of your lower leg, tops of legs are not too bad.  I have decided i am def going to get it done again beofre my wedding because it is so nice not to have to worry about it.  I have never had my underarms done but am going to this time.  The key to it is finding someone who is very good and quick! The slower they are at pulling the wax of the more painful it is!  Good luck and if you decide to do it let me know what you think!

I'm sorry if this is too much of a private question too.
