greysgirl - Thanks for all your input, what type of signs are you going to buy?

 

I haven't started working on redoing my tank, it's just mine I have to fix because I didn't do it properly. I am working a 10 hour shift today, so have to go pick up the stones tomorrow. I'm going to try and get plaques and do the vintage crackle Mr & Mrs signs for our chairs.

 

Thanks for the tip about the maracas. I've been worried about bringing so much and really wanted them for favors. Now I will just have to make sure we have shopping time!

 

On another rant, now that we are actually getting closer, FI is starting to ask questions about how everything is organized. He's worried that there won't be enough excitement at our wedding dinner if we don't do speeches. He's the one that didn't want them originally. He's also worried no one will dance or be able to hear the music because it's outside. If nothing else, I will be rocking the dance floor with my girls! Plus, it will only be a couple of hours, and then we have to move inside to another bar. I know he's only trying to help, but I warned him to stop postponing decisions because the time would go quickly.

Thanks girls for the imput... just outta curiousity are any of you girls wearing a dress you ordered from DHGate at your actual wedding or are they more suited for a TTD? Just wondering if they look as good as they do in the picture or if they are obvious cheap looking dresses????

Kathy, I already have 2 dresses from Monica Bridal on DHGate, one was intended for my ceremony and still will be unless I pull the trigger on another one, the second is a short one for my reception. Check out the thread on knock off dresses, you will see the quality on there. Glad to see I'm not the only one stuck at work on a Saturday!

Ok ladies, status update on the dress. I LIKE it but don't LOVE it! Crap!!!!!!

Decided on a flower and no veil. i bought a flower at Michaels today for my reception (white) and one for my TTD (blue). I am going to try and DIY my reception hair flower but the blue one is already ready to clip in my hair.

I also bought my first DIY item lol it's a 2inch circle hole punch to finish my door hangers and it works great!

Just found out my dad is going to be wearing a cream linen shirt that he bought in mexico with black pants and black sandals. Do you think this will look bad in pictures beside my WHITE dress? His girlfriend is also wearing a cream linen halter dress with gold on it. I can't even imagine what that will look like.

Thanks for the support ladies.... sometimes I just need to let it out! It's really hard to spend less time with her because she's one of my best friends AND she doesn't have a lot of friends so I'm pretty much her #1 support (after my mom, who is in Mexico right now). I feel selfish not being there for her 24/7, but I'm only getting married once. Her last breakup was AWFUL. She's only had long term relationships and the last one was a 2 year relationship that she took over a year to get over. In that time we had stopped talking completely, and she was on meds and seeing a therapist. She's an amazing girl but we've both had such a rough childhood that I don't blame her for being kind of, well, emotional.... I sometimes forget how lucky I am to have my Kai. 

 

I feel much better today though... we went and looked at 5 houses ! 2 were great but I don't think they're for us.

Lisa, the flower looks great. Sorry you don't love your dress. Does it fit properly, or does it need alterations?

 

I think your Dad will look fine in the pictures. I don't get why his gf is wearing such a light colour to your wedding though. What are the other parents wearing?

 

I've decided to order another dress as soon as everyone gets back from Chinese New Year. Then once it arrives I will pick my favorite and try to sell the other one.
