Wow there was a lot to catch up from that i missed this weekend! you ladies have been busy!!!!

I am happy to report that alterations on my dress are DONE and it's READY TO GO! :)  Unfortunately, no pics for you YET ... but I'll get some this week.  My dress is 2 pieces, so I was only wearing the skirt on the weekend as that's the only part that needed the alteration.  The skirt has a lot of pickups in it so she cut and hemmed the new length saving a little extra in the front. So all we did was have me put it on and walk. Then to make the length perfect in the front, she just sewed a few more pickups! Easy peasy! She took a TON of fabric off of it too so I think I have more than enough left to make a cocktail dress. :)  AND, the skirt is SO MUCH LIGHTER now!!! phew!!

I'll be bringing the dress to my parents' house some time this week and I'll try it ALL on there for my mom (she couldn't come this weekend) and get her to snap some pics!  I'm really happy with it though! :) :)

I too couldn't imagine planning the AHR along with the DW.  We are doing our AHR in July, so I'll work on that after we get back from the DW.  I already have the invites decided, I just need to work on them with the photographer.  We are going to do a picture of us that will be taken at the resort, and on the pack, have the wording for the AHR invite.  I can't wait.  I love the idea!!  A friend of my FIs did that last year when they did the DW and AHR.

So, when I woke up this morning, I had decided that I made the wrong decision with our reception dinner.  We hadn't completely decided what we wanted to do, and then we got an email Saturday from the WC saying she needed our decision.  So, I thought about it (a little) and decided to not do the private dinner, because of how much more it cost.  Well, when I woke up I was like...no this just isn't going to be right...  we have to do a private dinner...  So, I emailed FI at work (because I'm home sick today), and told him that I think I made the wrong decision and he needed to help me with it!  (He had originally told me to make the decision, because he wanted me to do what I wanted...it's his second wedding, and he has made it very clear that he doesn't mind going all out again, because it's my first and "I deserve everything I want.")  So, I emailed the WC and told her that I had changed my mind, I wanted to do the private dinner, even though I knew it cost more money.  So now...I have a little more to plan for the private dinner!

my grandma also brought out her wedding dress for me to see when i was visiting.  we had the idea that i could wear it for the reception if i was too hot in my dress. she got married i think in the 50's and the dress is sooooo cute!!! (strapless too!!) unfortunately my grandma was obviously a twig beause i needed to loose a good 6 inches around my torso to make it fit!!! LOL i'd rather not break my ribs to fit into it, so that idea is a bust.  Cool that I got to try it on though!
