Newbie - Chicago

Hello to all! This forum has been a HUGE help for my fiance and I in the past week, and we're excited about all that is to come these next months. We are targeting a destination wedding early next winter 2011 (likely in February or late January). We love the beaches of Riviera Maya but are having a difficult time discovering a non-beach, non-hotel location. We also love the ceremony and reception locations for Jamaica, but we aren't as excited about the hotels for our guests to stay in (since we are expecting 75-80 or so guests, we would have to stay in one of the larger all-inclusive resorts. We are not opposed to them, we have just never been and don't know what to expect). Looking forward to hearing everyone's thoughts and providing guidance of our own as the year goes by!

Alright, non beach, non hotel. What about Xcaret??

They have a ton of wedding locations that are in the jungle, on ruins, in a church. And from what I've seen it's very beautiful. Plus, it's VERY close to a bunch of resorts in the Playa Del Carmen (and north) area so your guests could all stay at the all-inclusives, but have your wedding offsite!

I am from Milwaukee and getting married Feb 18th 2011. I am having about 50people at my wedding. We picked the Aventura Cove and Spa in Riveria Maya. It has an adults side and a family side. Pefect for all.
