welcome and congrats! moon palace was one of my top picks as well. i doubt you'll need to use the horse and carriage if you don't want to. perhaps you can have the wedding coordinator exchange it for something else.

Congrats on your upcoming wedding! I was married at the catholic gazebo at the Moon Palace (almost 2 years ago!!) It was so beautiful and they are so nice and helpful there. We actually flew our priest down for the wedding but we did meet with Father Pierre who was the priest at Moon Palace at the time. I don't know if he is still there or not but he was very nice. You still have to do all the things required by the catholic church, and bring your paperwork with you (like pre-cana classes.) I would email Moon Palace and get the exact requirements though, since it may have changed since I was there! You will love it! Congratulations again!

Congratulations and welcome to BDW! I am getting married at Moon Palace in July....so I am a bit biased. However, MP and Dreams seem to be the most mainstream Cancun wedding resorts.....there are a ton of other resorts that do weddings...but these two seemt to be the biggest.

As for the horse drawn carriage....it is an option. Comes with all of the packages except the free package, but you can elect not to do it. If you do the free package it is a la carte $136usd. Several of us MP brides have pics of the terraces and such...so feel free to pm us and we would be happy to share.

There are two really good threads on this forum for MP....Moon Palace 2008-2009 brides and Moon Palace 2010 brides. TONS of information shared on these threads. The Catholic shapel (to my knowledge) does not have any specific requirements that differ from any other location. It just needs to be available on your wedding day. I believe you may have to legally get married down there to do the catholic wedding.....versus getting legally married in the states and just doing the symbolil ceremony there.

Good luck...ask away and congrats! Hope to see you around.

you did fly down your priest? Did they let him do the service for you? My fiance wants to fly in his. I am not Catholic but he is and his church would allow us to get married there. I am hooing it's the same there as long as we do the pre cana classes and everything.
