Bridal Salons in Vancouver, BC

Recommended Posts

Ladies - I need your help! My mom and best friend insists that they go dress shopping with me. They are currently in Vancouver so it looks like I will need to go dress shopping in Vancouver. Can brides from Vancouver please recommend the bridal salons you went to?

Thanks in advance.

Hi there!

Sadly, I think I have been to most of the wedding dress stores around town! I had dress-trying on mania.

I would recommend if you want a higher-end designer gowns (i.e. 3000+ gowns) to go to:

  • Blush Bridal in West Vancouver (very beautiful gowns, great service)
  • Something Blue in Yaletown (downtown Vancouver)
  • Bisou Bridal (near the Olympic village)

These places had a better selection of dresses for a more reasonable budget (i.e. less than 3000-4000):

  • Isabelle's bridal (North Vancouver), great service, nice selection
  • Clara Couture (Vancouver), has lots of Pronovias and San Patrick gowns
  • Bridal Gallery, Lisa's Bridal, Sposa and a whole host of bridal stores all on one strip in New Westminster. You won't go lacking for selection here! service is hit or miss though in some of these places

Have fun!

Hi!

Blush was by far the best service, but all of the dresses are *very* expensive. So if you're not looking for the likes of Vera Wang, you can skip it!

Something Blue - I didn't go because the lady on the phone wasn't the nicest. But they look like they have stunning dresses.

Bisou Bridal - very nice, lots of options at different price points.

Isabelle Bridal - I had bad service there.

Bridal Gallery - it was mayhem in there! It can be overwhelming but they have a LOT of choice.

Byan's Bride - Horrible service. They left me waiting there for 20 minutes and nobody helped me or talked to me even though I had an appointment!

One place not mentioned here is Bello - I had great service and this is where I found my dress! (Pronovias)

Sita, Magalie,

Thanks for providing the salon names. I did see Bisou Bridal online so now I'll also hit Clara and Bello. Can't wait to try on dresses - wish me luck! Planning to visit Vancouver in a few weeks so I'll give the salons a call and book an appointment. Thanks again for providing the information and feedback.

It depends on what you want to spend. I went to Bryans Bridal in Brentwood Mall and my dress consultants name was Hallie, she was great. I found a gown from the Venus Bridal Line for $400 not sure if the link will work below.

Thank you ladies for the recommendations - I just made an appointment at Bisou bridals - I guess I'll try that out first - I hope I can find my dress there? I'll print off the recommendations you have provided just in case if it doesn't work out. Thanks again!

Hello Vancouver and BC brides!

Any updates on gown shopping?

I am starting my process and I do not know where to begin. Sposa in new West probably...

I went shopping once on my trip in Montreal and really like one of the Jasmine dress there.

Have you ever try some bridal shop in the valley (Langley)?

Also, if my wedding is in July 2011, is it better to wait until January to shop?  I am wondering if it's better to wait for the new collection of 2011 to arrive?

Any help is much appreciated!

I LOVED Bisou Bridal!

The girls there are very helpful and not pushy at all!

Plus they have some gorgeous gowns:-)

I would have bought my dress from there, but they didn't carry the designer or dress I ended up going with...

Which leads me to where I did end up going, which was Blush in West Vancouver.

The *ONLY* reason I went there was b/c they carried the dress I wanted.

The sales people were RUDE and not to mention pushy...

One of them actually got mad at my mother for sugggesting a dress for me to try on!

Then, when I made an appt for my alterations, I drove ALL the way to West Van on a day when I was really busy, and the alterations lady had just left.

They forgot to book her for my appointment.

I was pretty pissed and they weren't at all apologetic.

My advice is, if you don't HAVE to go there (i.e. they're the only ones to carry the dress you want) steer clear! :-)

Aside from Bisou Bridal, I also had a good experience at Bridal Gallery in New West. But I think it depends on your consultant. The girl I had was very good, but I've heard mixed reviews from other brides who have been there.

I second Bello... my friend got her dress there and had no complaints!

Good luck!
