On the southernmost tip of Baja California, a multimillion dollar renovation has transformed Meliá Cabo San Lucas into one of Mexico's most unique wedding destinations. Its brand-new concept, Passion by Design, introduces contemporary interiors enhanced by exquisite Mexican artwork.

The recent launch of Nikki Beach is yet another reason to visit this chic hotel. Located in front of the hotel on fabled Playa El Médano, the only swimmable beach in Cabo San Lucas, the hip beach club one of ten such locations worldwide is an extension of the personalized service and laidback atmosphere of Meliá Cabo San Lucas itself. Here, couples enjoy seaside Polynesian day beds, fire dancers and hot DJ's spinning the latest rhythms in world music. Other treats include signature cocktails and Global Fusion Cuisine, a blend of Asian and Mediterranean dishes. Couples can also arrange for a romantic beachside dinner under the stars with a private server. Recently redesigned to reflect the hotel's contemporary vibe, the 144 rooms and six suites furnish modern art as well as paintings and sculptures by celebrated artist Yuri Zatarain. Upscale amenities include satellite TVs, high-speed Internet, in-room spa services and terraces and balconies that overlook Sea of Cortez, perfect for wedding blocks. The Level on Meliá's exclusive sixth floor offers 24 rooms and 18 suites complete with complimentary Petit Dejeuner, iPods, Bulgari bath amenities. The main gathering space on this floor is The Living Room Lounge, where guests enjoy a home theatre, free Internet access, cocktail bar services and the personal assistance of an Experience Manager. As expected, wedding couples at Meliá receive the full VIP treatment. Packages may be custom tailored to fit any wish for the special occasion, including specific floral arrangements, wedding cake designs, entertainment and venue decor. While the beach with its striking views is one of the most popular ceremony and reception sites, couples may also celebrate their big bash on elegant seaside patios or at The Passion Club, Restaurant & Lounge, complete with cozy sofas, a firepit and live DJ or jazz music. Regardless of the occasion, Meliá Cabos San Lucas offers something for every guest. Time at the resort may be spent relaxing with a poolside massage, golfing on championship courses, snorkeling and kayaking the turquoise waters off Médano beach and exploring the charming town of Cabo San Lucas.

This is very helpful, so you recommend this hotel? I feel all the reviews I got from tripadvisor was that it was a very loud hotel with horrible service. If anyone has had a wedding here or is planning one please your imput is greatly appreciated! :)

Jamie, I had visited this resort in November for our site visit. It's a very pretty resort, actually I fell in love with the rooms. HOWEVER, I wouldn't have our wedding there. The reason is, we are having a beach wedding and their beach is packed, and the place they recommend for their ceremony is pool side and IMO isn't private enough. They do have the bar (nikki beach) so I can see why people may say it gets loud. But if your looking for a modern design resort, it's amazing. OH and one more thing, they were building a new resort right next door so it was kindof loud during construction.

Thank you Tammy for the input and advise. I am about to lose it, I've been looking for a beach to have my wedding at for at least two months now and I'm starting to lose all hope. After seeing pictures from cabo I just felt in love with the views of the rock formations, and can't stop thinking how romantic a ceremony on the beach during sunset would be. I've never been to cabo. I hate to be a burden but do you recommend any hotels where I could host a beach ceremony/reception for about 100 People? also they need to allow kids.

Well I have to say I'm a little partial to the Sheraton, it's an non-AI resort and it has great grounds. Another great resorts are

Cabo Surf (small resort, you would would probably have to rent out the entire thing)

Hilton

If you do a search on either one of these three resorts you will find some information and pictures, we had a few weddings recently at Cabo Surf, which in all honesty might work best since it will be private and the prefect size for your group. Look up Tasha & Christa's review by using the search key. OR visit Cabo surf's website and Janet's wedding is posted on there.
