Where do you go camping?

Husband and I are planning to do alot of outdoor activities this summer and I was wondering where do you go camping. We are looking into exploring different spots that has fishing, hiking, swimming oh and places where we can take our dog. We are even thinking of renting a cabin out in the woods for a weekend.

 

We do live in IL but dont mind traveling to other states.

My FI and I are really into camping and hiking too, but we live in Ontario so we do everything here. If you're looking to go away for a few days there's lots of great places to go camping and hiking in the 'Muskoka' district in Ontario. Algonquin Park is definitely the best place to go.

We do a lot of camping and backpacking in the Smoky Mountains, mainly in Tennessee. If you are into doing multiple-day hikes, there are some great loops up there. We usually do 3 days at a time. North GA also has some nice campsites, so we go up there a good bit.

It's a bit of a hike from Illinois, but Algonquin Park, Killbear Park or Bruce National Park on the Bruce Peninsula in Ontario are all pretty awesome places to camp. Tons of stuff to do as well.

I don't know much about Illinois, but we camp all the time up here in Wisconsin! There are SO many wonderful places, it's ridiculous!!

 

Kohler Andrae State Park is one of my favorites.

Mauthe lake is where we go whenever we get a free weekend, as it's just 20 minutes from our house.

Further up north there are some great camping places with beautiful waterfalls on hikes. It's super awesome.

We always go to state parks. Camping at a state park is always far nicer, and cheaper, then going to actual camp sites. We got engaged during a hiking excursion at Mt. Magazine State Park in Arkansas, it was beautiful!

We always do state parks. They are inexpensive and it really makes for a mellow and relaxing weekend. There are a lot who have beaches on small lakes for swimming and fishing and whatnot. Its always nice to just get away. We just booked a weekend in June to go

Northern California is great for fishing, hiking, camping etc. My fiance and I go backpacking all the time and love it. If you haven't been before, check out some of the national parks. Yosemite is beautiful and Lassen is quite but beautiful as well.

FI & I have a camper trailer & 2 dogs, we go out a few times a year in PA, VA and GA. When we go to GA we typcially meet his family that lives in FL & make it a week-long vacation.
