mismatched bridesmaids dresses

Recommended Posts

That is what I am doing. I am taking my bms shopping on Saturday. I am picking the colour (turquoise) and length and letting them pick out whatever dress they want from the same line (so the colours match because there are so many shades of turquoise). This way they can all pick a dress that compliments them but still have the same colour.

I've flirted with this idea yet since my BM's are all different body shapes so it will hard to find one that looks good for the different sizes. My recommendation if you are sticking with one color, to try to have the fabrics be the same if you want the color to transfer over. I know that chiffon compared to satin's colors can end up looking a little different even if they are both "clover"

I love the idea of BM's having a style of dress that fits them but still a look that is uniform with choosing the same color.

What I also like that I've seen before, (depending on the color you choose of course) is to have your BM do different shades of one color. A bride had it to wear the BM closet to her wore the palest color of pink and then it graduated all the way to like a hot pink color by the end of her BM line per say. That's something else to think about if it interests you. Of course though, it cannot be done with all colors but I thought it looked unique and still beautiful.

This is what I am doing! I really want a look similar to the first post of this thread with the gray dresses. All of my friends are going to get dresses in shades of tan and browns from where ever they want. I want them to be more in-style/fashionable dress and not anything that reallly looks like typical bridesmaid dresses. A few of them are getting theirs from bcbg and I am really happy with how it looks overal so far!

I want to do this as well because I love the look when it's shades of the same color...But I have just two bm (my sisters) and I don't want it to look uncoordinated...I'm thinking of either tan/kahki dresses or shades of coral....Is it tacky if the rest of the ladies in my family (mom, aunt, little cousins) wear coral too even though they won't stand? It's a small wedidng of no more than 50 people
