Mel - trust me .  . . your wedding will be BEAUTIFUL!  It's in Mayte's hands.

We did not have any chinese lanterns so I can't really answer, but I will say that Mayte will take care of anything you request.  If you'd like lanterns, she'll arrange for lanterns.  We did not have any decor in the restaurant outside of the georgeous tables (nothing hanging from the ceiling) . . . and I don't think it needed anything more.  The restaurant is so beautiful as it is.

Mel, Jellyfish does not have desserts however Mayte could get desserts from the same bakery she is getting the cake from.  I'm a total dessert person so I just had to have a dessert table.  Everything was delicious, however I did ask for mini creme brulees and it was more like flan lol but it was fine. 

 

I actually brought the lanters however I dont think you need to, she has a lot of lanterns in all colors that she could use.... plus she has all of mine still   Just let her know if you want them or not.  Liz is right, it isnt needed.  I just wanted to throw in a little more of my color palette. 

 

I met with Mayte the day I got in.  Meeting with her right away totally helped calm my nerves    

 

Make sure you have bug spray.... you'll regret it if you dont!

Has anyone heard from Mayte in the last couple of days? She usually emails me back on the same day but I haven't heard back from her and being 11 days from my wedding it is freaking me out a little! I was just hoping to get confirmation on a few things before I see her next week. I am so ready for this wedding planning thing to be over with! I am ready to just relax on the beach with a drink in my hand!

Hey CDNCouple09 - I haven't heard from Mayte either!!! And my wedding is in 5 days!!!!!! I"m freaking out to right now because I had a few questions for her, but I'm meeting her this Friday, so I guess I'll save my questions for then! I AM SO READY TO RELAX ON THE BEACH WITH A DRINK IN HAND AND FORGET ABOUT ALL THIS WEDDING PLANNING. I'M GOING CRAZY!!!! Grrrrrrr!

Mel2010- Glad to hear its not just me freaking out! I meet with her on Tuesday so I guess I'll just have to wait until then! My other half just keeps telling me to take a breath and chill! Wish I was a man so I could care less about things like this! I am sure everything will work out and our weddings will be beautiful!

I actually met with Mayte the day of your wedding so I saw her decorating.. and know the background story of the 2 ceremonies lol.. She did an amazing job.. she was so stressed that day but she handles it really well.

Mayte put up pink/orange lanterns and I didn't even ask her to.. she does an amazing job, but then again I was very laid back and I had faith that she would do a really great job.. so I think thats why she had full range to do what she wanted lol. 

 

Also, my reccommendation for any brides that go is to pay Mayte most of your money the day you meet with her, that way you do not have to worry about your money, and honestly.. they do not really monitor how long cocktail hour/open bar is.. because I am so sure we went over it but hey, no one asked for more money lol.  Also, I had thought that during dinner cocktails were not included.. but she said they were included when I had guests getting them.. so my advice.. just relax, she does an amazing job.. I wouldn't ask about the cocktail thing during dinner just go with it, but just know it doesn't seem like they will charge.

 

Apparently the day of my wedding, it was raining all day at the Jellyfish, but at ME it was a gorgeous day.. luckily when we got to Jellyfish it was clear skies and if Mayte had not told me, I wouldn't have had a clue that it had been raining.  All of our guests kept on telling us that is was one of the best weddings they have ever been to, and after hearing it so much you start to wonder if they are just saying it or really mean it, but I think everyone really meant it.

 

Hope you upcoming ladies have an amazing time.. remember to relax and enjoy it I will post my review soon (after driving 24 hours to MA, plane ride from MA to Punta Cana, Wedding/Vacation and then another plane ride/drive 24 hours.. I think the tiredness has finally got to me and I'm exhausted!)

Jessica I agree your wedding was absolutely gorgeous! Looks like you and your guests really enjoyed yourselves. This makes me so happy, and thankful I stumbled across this thread, after all of your amazing reviews I am the newest jellyfish bride! I'm so excited, our wedding is January 23, 2012 and Mayte was so quick to confirm, we heard within 24 hours, just this past Tuesday. I'm already so impressed. Our ceremony is still booked at our resort, dreams palm beach... But I'm tempted to switch everything over to the JF! What do you ladies think?
