Jellyfish Restaurant

I agree with Astef - I posted the same question on here a while ago, so if any previous brides out there used the Jellyfish DJ, we would love to hear your review on him. :)

I forgot to add that if you choose to have a 2 hour cocktail party after your ceremony, Mayte told me that the price goes up from $5/pp to $10/pp for 2 hours. This is why I'm on the fence about having 2 hours for picture taking and having cocktails for my guests.

How much time are you allowing yourselves to take pictures after the wedding ceremony? 1 hour, 1.5 hr? or 2hrs? I can't decide if 1 hr is too short or 2 hours too long, lol.

1 hour is the standard length. 2 hours is too long. I was at my cousin's wedding as a bridesmaid and she had a wedding in which the ceremony/reception was in the same place, and she took 2 hours for her photos. Her guests got pretty irritated, and as a bridesmaid I wanted to strangle the photographer by the end.

We didn't arrange any sort of cocktail hour price. All our drinks and food except for our apps between the ceremony and dinner were a la carte. That way we didn't have a set price per person. Thought it worked out really well for 24 people. Our ceremony was at 5pm and I think we ended up eating around 7:30-8:00. We were taking pictures with guests, eating, drinking, taking pictures down by the beach, and drinking some more during that time. Think anything over 2 hours would be away to long. Honestly even if you go over on your picture time your guests will be having such a good time eating, drinking and enjoying the setting that they won't even notice.

Megan,

Your wedding pictures and video are absolutely beautiful.  Thank you so much for taking the time to post your review of the Jellyfish, it makes the rest of us realize what a wonderful decision we are making.

A few quick questions if you don't mind.

1) How much was it to do drinks and dinner a la carte? I was just at a wedding that did buffet style and it just seems so much easier and convenient for everyone.  Is this what you did?

2) Did you dance inside, in the sand or did you arrange to have a dance floor. Dancing is what my guest will most likely enjoy the most and I want to make sure that they can do that.

3) Did you bring the beautiful white lanterns with you or Mayte set those up?

Thank you again for all your info and advise.

Sheri

We have our legal judge booked for 3pm, followed by some h'orderves, cocktails, and a steel drum band to set the mood.

Our supper is booked to start at 6:30pm.  We wanted to allow an hour for our ceremony (just incase the judge is running late or something happens etc).

Then allowing ourselves 2 1/2 hours for photos, as we want to get family/wedding party photos done 1st and our photographer said to allow an hour for all of those.  Then we have allowed an hour and a half for us to get our photos taken, as the sun starts to set over the water shortly after 5pm.
