Did anyone have any issues with sending the $500 deposit by wire transfer to Jellyfish Enterprises?

The measurements have been taken as of today. I am a personal friend of Mayte's and spoke with her today, however I still advise all brides who are interested in having a bridal suite built there to write on the Jellyfish facebook page to ensure he knows how important it is and follows through with completing it in a timely fashion.

I travelled with $12000USD, which was split up between my fiance and mother, and there was no issue. You cannot travel with more than $10,000 on your person but confirm this with your travel laws or travel agent as it may depend on the country you live in. Once you arrive in the DR you can put it in your safe until your pre-wedding meeting with Mayte where you will be able to get rid of it. If it makes you feel safer have your fiancé or parents keep part of the money in their safe so that all the money is not kept in one place. The other thing that I did was separate the money into labelled envelopes so that it would be easier for me to divide it when needed (Note that if you do not put a tip in a separate envelope addressed specifically for Mayte then she will not keep any money you gave as a gratuity for her and is obliged to share it with the staff.... just in case you planned on tipping her something that is just for her). Oh, and I always kept the money on my person's when travelling in the airport/plane. Hope this helps

I deposited it directly into their bank account so that I didn't have to pay the $30 wire transfer fee. There was no problem with this.

UNIQUE DESTINATION WEDDING INVITES!

 

Hey Brides,

 

Not sure why I didn't think of this soon but for those of you who are looking for a unique destination wedding invite I thought I would share mine. My invite was a 14 page passport (not including the front cover), printed in colour, that looks identical to a real one. My RSVP was a boarding pass that has a perforated edge which could be torn off, making the rest of the RSVP a post card size that could be mailed back without an envelope.

 

For those of you who live in Ontario, there is an artist that I used that can do it for you and even ship it to you. She is a zillion times cheaper than a print shop or buying the standard fancy-papered invited from a wedding invite store (which are never really unique).  She can do any kind of custom invite!  Her name is Krista Schnieder and you can check her out on her blog spot (her contact info can be found there as well): http://www.kristaschneider.com/blog.html

 

I have the outline of the final print already done so all you would need to do is change your info. In addition, for those of you who are staying at the Majestic Colonial it already has all the info in it for you

Pg 2- Official Invite

Pg 3- Resort Info

Pg 4- Accomodations

Note: I did find out how to make the invites myself via a DIY website but unfortunately I am not crafty and nor did I have the time to spend... I had plenty on my plate during the planning period including working full-time like most others and really did not want the additional stress.

In addition, Krista Schnieder (the artist who did mine) is an artist by trade and is very capable of doing whatever you want. She saved me tons of time and stress. I strongly recommend her.

You made your entire payment by depositing it I to there account? Is it Bank of America? I would prefer to do this as well as long as its ok.
