How many appetizers are you guys choosing for cocktail hour?
We chose 4, one of each for each of our guests. It was not a lot but it was enough. I'd say if you choose only 2 or 3 apps you may want to consider getting 10-20% more than your # of guests in case some people grab more than one then others may miss out... I was definitely glad we tried everything at the tasting because I think I only got 1 or 2 after we were done with pictures.

hello brides,

i'm having trouble with wording for my website. i want to let guests know that are coming to the wedding that they don't need to bring a gift since they are already spending so much to come. however, for the other people who can't make it and friends/family who want to get us something, i need to put the registry up. any suggestions on how to explain this situation? Thanks!!!

This is the wording I used:

Please know that gifts are not expected, needed, nor required.  Your presence at our ceremony and celebration is the best gift that we could ever ask for.

However, to make things easier, we have registered at Honeyfund as well as Home Outfitters since we have had a few inquiries.

However, some point after us deciding on this wording, my fiance deciding that registering was rude because it looked like we expected gifts, even though I explained that it's a wedding and regardless of how many time you say "no gifts", someone will want to buy a gift. Ugh, men. So we don't even have this up on our website yet.

this is exactly what i was looking for! thank you! that's too bad about your fiance! i feel like even if you say no gifts some people will still want to get you things. at least if you register it will be stuff that you want!

Here's what we put on our wedding website:

If you are traveling with us for our wedding, your presence is the absolute best gift we could ever ask for.  Some who are not able to make it to the wedding have been asking about giving a congratulatory gift and we are appreciative of that, but it is certainly not expected. We are grateful to be surrounded by such wonderful people, and we cannot wait to celebrate with you all!

Then underneath that we have a link to our registry...

our wedding website is www.weaverandoostyen.ourwedding.com if you want to check it out! I looked up some wording for some other sticky situations and I think it turned out well...

Hi all!

I'm a newly engaged bride :) and we've decided on a DR wedding.  We were just about to book at Now Larimar but then I came across Jellyfish... does anyone out there have pics to share from their wedding at Jellyfish?  With 140 pages that go along with this particular forum, I didn't have a chance to scroll through all to look for links!  I saw some from the website and more on their FB page... but I was hoping to see something more recent and more detailed... and that includes the ceremony and reception.

Thank you!!
