Is anyone here using Cores Films?  I like his work and I have tentatively booked him to film our wedding but he says no deposit is required and to pay in cash only.  I'm just wondering if anyone who has used him before was told the same thing?  I suppose I just feel more comfortable having an actual written and signed contract with a deposit.  He said that his acceptance email was the confirmation of my date.

Thanks!

Hello,

I also booked Diego Cores. He told me there is no deposit required and pay in cash on the day of. I am a little nervous though after reading the other review about him. Hoping his work justifies the price!

JF Brides. I need feedback on Caribbean Emotions Photography. Good or not so good?? I've googled Punta Cana wedding photographers, but have only come up with a hand full, and of course the one I LOVED is booked.  Thank you!!!!! Happy planning girls ;)
We used Caribbean Emotions for photography and video. We liked everything we saw or could find online while making our decision and their prices were really good. They were easy to work with, did an awesome job and we had our discs in hand before we left to go home! If you look a few pages back I posted some pics and there are a few in an album on my profile. I'd definitely say they are a solid choice!

Hi Ladies,

We are not using Diego (we're going with Florian at Video Punta Cana), but I noticed a post on the facebook group for the Majestic Colonial brides where there was a bride who found out 3 weeks before her wedding that her date wasn't reserved even though she had received a confirmation email.  This is probably a one-off occurrence, but I thought I'd let you know.  I've posted a link to the comments if anyone wants to check it out.  Cores said it was a mixup and I'm not really sure what happened in the end - probably a little undue stress for the bride though!

Hi Ladies,

Thanks so much for your reviews/feedback about Diego Cores.

Funny thing happened - the same day that I posted my question about Cores, I had a reply to an ad I had posted on a couple of wedding websites, asking if there are any cinematographers from the US or Canada who are looking to expand their resume to destination weddings and who could work within our budget.  The person who will be doing our cinematography is coming Pennsylvania and is charging much less than Cores Films.  I find her quality of work to be considerably better, so I'm extremely happy we booked her.

Hi. I am getting married there in March and was wondering the same thing. Is it better to have a reception when there is some day light so the ocean is visible or is it too hot in the late afternoon? I hear that the sun sets around 6:45 at this time of the year.

I love Michael and Pascal from Cairbbean Emotions. We used them in May for our wedding at the ME and Jellyfish, and we have absolutely no complaints. The prices are really decent and the quality of work is amazing. I did write a review on them on here. You can also go onto youtube and if you search Caitlin Joseph May 9, 2012 you should find sone of what they did for us. You won't regret if you book them.

Hi Ladies...  Since I finally received my video from Diego I thought I would share some of the clips.  He still hasn't uploaded my trailer (which I'm very annoyed about) but I edited my dvd and clipped out some parts myself so I could share them....

Here they go:

Here is our trailer (a quick glimpse into the whole day: https://vimeo.com/46639216

A peek into our bridal party photo session:  https://vimeo.com/46639217

And a clip of our PARTY!: https://vimeo.com/46639702

I know when I was planning I was obsessed with looking at past brides video's and pictures... if there is any other video clip or picture you ladies would like to see just let me know and I will try to post it up for you.

So I think I finally hit the stressing part of planning a wedding in  the DR. grrrr. We will be staying at the Majestic Elegance and I've been in contact with Janet who handles group reservations. She is very sweet and has given me lots of information, but, I have a MAJOR problem and question she can't seem to understand or answer. If anyone can help me, I would appreciate it.

Okay here is my problem: Many of us are planning on booking our trip on priceline.com, because so far it has the BEST deals on hotels/flights/vacation packages. The only down side is that it doesn't give you an option to put the number of guests staying at the hotel, so how will they get an all inclusive pass during their stay? Is there a fee once we arrive and how much? For some reason she wasn't sure how that works or who priceline was.

HELP. lol

I saw your post in the ME brides page, but I figured I will answer here...I would call priceline and double-check that the package that people are booking is an All-inclusive package...I would venture to say that it probably is, but its always better to know for sure. I think you can then criss-reference the reservations so everyone is recognized as a part of the group...make sense??
