cnd29
We had our wedding cake and a sweet table (both paid seperate from the dinner) and honestly it was a lot of dessert... Just an FYI... I wish we would have cut the cake a little bit earlier.. We waited to long after dinner and as soon as my husband and I cut the cake everyone went to dance.. by the time Mayte came out with all the slices and placed them on the table a lot of people didn't eat them We didnt have a separate dessert, didnt seem necessary We had a single tier cake to cut and cupcakes for each of our guests. People just grabbed a cupcake when they wanted them, no waiting for the cake to be cut and served, although the cake was definitely large enough for everyone to have had a piece as well... We didn't really eat it though because we never sat back down at our table. Like Venus said, by the time it was served we were either on the dance floor or parked at the bar! I could really go for some jellyfish drinks! I miss them! Lol My favorites were Coco Loco Blue, the mojitos and passion fruit daquiris! They're so sweet it's almost like extra desserts drinking them anyway!

sdj327
I am debating between Mayte's DJ and DJ Mannia. Any suggestions?
AshTooner
Hi Ladies, I have a few questions that I would be so grateful to have answered if possible... I would like to have a little candy buffet at our reception. I was wondering if anyone knows if Mayte has any scoops? I'm not really sure what I will need to bring, besides candy. For past brides, what cake flavors did you choose? Will butter cream icing withstand the heat, or is fondant a better option? Also, during your pre-wedding meeting with Mayte, do you actually get put together a mock table setting to get a idea of what it will look like? I'm also wondering if anyone knows exactly what colors mayte has for tablecloths, decor, etc. I would like to use more pastel colors in my scheme. I can't remember having scoops though...Mayte has tons of containers though, we did, however, bring resealable bags so people could take candy with them when we left. Fondant is a way better choice for the hot climate. Butter cream can actually turn or melt. Its still a dairy product. Mayte will bring the cake out during dinner, so it doesn't sit too long. Mayte has tons of colours, my advice is just ask her. Chances are that she will have it...she had everything in my turquoise and apple green. I only brought down 9 paper lanterns, which I left with Mayte to use for other brides...

I almost when with DJ Mannia because they had the LED dancefloor and everyone raved about them... but i didn't like the fact that they had a 4 hour time limit with the max of extending only 1 hour and they were pricey! I ended up going with Mayte's DJ and she was able to rent the LED Dancefloor for me too! The price for the DJ, MC and Dancefloor was WAY less than the DJ Mannia quote and I had them for as long as I wanted! They kept the dance floor PACKED. It was a great party, they may have played one song I didn't like, but everyone else enjoyed it and was dancing so it didn't really matter (besides I didn't give them a do not play list). They also played any song that my guests requested. It was a great time and well worth the money. I recommend Mayte's DJ 100%

I know Mayte has almost anything you want and if she doesn't have it, she most likely can get it for you. A lot of the things she set up for my wedding she purchased or made based on what I asked for. We didn't got through a mock up of the tabel setting, I just showed her pictures of what I liked and the colors I wanted and she gave me her ideas to approve or change. She does come to you with a lot of great suggestions and ideas. I know it's hard to say don't worry (I stressed a lot before the wedding) but seriously she really does know what she is doing and has it all under control. For the cake I would recommend fondant. I know they can do buttercream, but for me fondant is a better option. It looks neater and keeps the cake together better... not to mention it can withstand the heat better than buttercream. The flavors I had were: banana cake with creme brulee filling and Rum cake with Mango filling. The rum w/mango was DELICIOUS!!! The banana was ok, but a little heaveir for me... the guests enjoyed both flavors. Hope that helps!
