26 days until Dominican, 29 days until I say I do.. pretty much everything is done, I just have to do some last minute touches on the OOT bags, get a makeup trial & buy makeup, buy fiance's tie and buy groomsmen/parents gifts.  Looks like I need to make a trip to the mall :)

As far as the dj, I made a detailed list of music to play during the ceremony/reception and broke it down to music to play when guests arrive, procession, bridal entrance, sand ceremony, exit, our first dance, cocktail hour, dinner music, dancing music & slow songs..

Ah man! This makes me feel unorganized :) I have a few months to go but I really need to work on the music aspect of things. Would you mind sharing your outline of music? I feel that I need ideas! We have first dance song....and "ideas" for everything else! I a looking forward to your review after the wedding as we are also at ME and wedding at Jellyfish.

MNtoMX, I'm in the same boat as you, feeling slightly unorganized, but at least we finally got most of our guests booked so at least I have an idea of numbers now.

So looking forward to hearing about the other ladies experiences at both the ME and Jellyfish! I'm sure everything will be absolutely beautiful, but I love seeing what everyone does.

In regards to the house DJ, Megs who was on here previously said that the house DJ is fine, but that he mostly just played what was on her ipod. Which I think she actually asked him to do.  I think if you have a group who will make the party their own, then you're probably fine with the house DJ.
Would love to hear what others are planning on putting on their play-lists :-)

Hey ladies,

I have 43 days left until our wedding and I still have tons to do. I'm getting overwhelmed myself over all this small stuff, but extremely important stuff, like song list, OOT bags, bridesmaids/groomsmen gifts, etc. Thank goodness for my wedding checklist or I'd be completely lost!!!

One thing I've been meaning to do lately is start up my planning thread - kudos to you Jlarruda for getting yours started!!

Ok ladies - as for deciding on DJ Mannia or In-house DJ, I have a little secret to share, they are willing to "bargain" in order to get your business. I basically told them that I had received a better offer with the Jellyfish ($600) and they came back and counter-offered a wayyyyy better price. It's more than $600, but it's definitely NOT $1000!!!

This is just my two cents . . . if you really want DJ MANNIA - I'm so glad we booked with them! :)

Mel2010 - I am in the same position as you. I have all the little things left and that's what is stressing me out. I made a list and I have been trying to do at least one thing a day. My biggest stress is figuring out the bridesmaids gifts. I have no idea what to get them. I bought their dresses and I am thinking of getting them some barefoot jewelery and a personalized towel. Any other suggestions?

I also booked DJ Mannia and did not pay $1000. Is that what he is going for now? That's crazy!

The barefoot jewelry is really cool.  That's what I got my girls, along with a matching pair of drop earrings, and Chelsea at Readi-by-chelsea is awesome at getting it right and quickly for you!

I am in the same boat, we leave in less than three weeks and I'm totally stressing myself out with all the little things, even though most everything is done.  Just finishing up the OOT bags, finalizing the music, and working stuff for our reception back home.

BrideMAR2012,

I went with the Jellyfish DJ.  I was worried about his song selection so before we traveled down I put together 2 playlists on my iPod.  The first was for cocktail hour/dinner and the second was for dancing.

After our ceremony, while we were taking pictures with our guests the DJ started playing some chill tropical/loungy music - I wanted more upbeat music so everyone could start partying so I handed him my iPod and told him which playlist to put on.  From that point on he only played my music - I had him switch to the dance playlist after dinner.

Even though he only played from my iPod I would still have made the decision to go with him because I didn't have to worry about the music and the sound setup and lights were awesome.  We didn't have a first dance, garter toss, bridal party so we didn't need a DJ to make any announcements so this was the way to go for us.  If you want an interactive DJ and want to pay a little more then I'm sure DJ Mannia would be the way to go.  Hope that helps

Mel2010,

We tipped Mayte 20%, although I am not sure if and how it get distributed among the staff.

Megs :)
