Legal vs. Symbolic Ceremonies Question

Is the reason for so many brides doing a symbolic ceremony instead of a legal one in MX just a matte of the timing and the "3 days prior" rule? Are there issues with the validation process after a legal ceremony? We want to do a legal ceremony & it's just the two of us, so we are scheduling around vendor availability.

Sorry guys! I found all the other threads on the subject! Certainly a lot to think about, but I think we will handle the legalities beforehand. I've had my blood drawn so many times and am very picky about how it's done.

 

One thing that is not clear to me yet is if we can pick a different ceremony & have it in English if we do a symbolic ceremony. We are looking at Secrets Maroma Beach.
