We got engaged on 02/19/2010 and want to get married in June. Needless to say we are in a time crunch! We are going to Hawaii to get married. We want a small wedding so my parents, brother, sister-in-law, niece and grooms mother will be going with us. We would like to have a shower before the wedding and a reception after we return. When reading about invitations this is what I found on what to send:

1)Save the date card (sent to those intended to go to reception upon return)

2)Shower invitation (sent to women only that are invited to the reception)

3)Wedding announcement/ reception invitation

That just seems like a lot of invites to the same people, but is this correct?

Also, since it is just immediate family going with us to HI should I get wedding invitation and send them to my family going and close family and friends that I know canâ€t wonâ€t go?

We are hoping to get married in June (depending on when location is available). When should all these things be sent out and when should thing occur?

Is there a website or someone that can lay all this out for me?

Thanks for any and all help!!!

hi! i skipped save-the-dates and invitations all together and found that it made more sense to create a website. a destination wedding requires alot of communication that often changes which is why i chose to do a website. i used wedsite.com and LOVE it. my guests were very impressed as well. check out my link below. hope this helps!

well considering the time frame...I would skip on the STDs. If you have the people you know you are inviting either send them just an invite or lead them to a website. You don't HAVE to send those particular invites...it's all on what you want to do. I'm not doing a shower but I am doing STDs because alot of people want to know immediately what's going on..(they are about as anxious as I am!) and once I make a payment i'm going to send out the invites.

Like I said....forget about "tradition" we already skipping regular tradition by having a destination wedding. So do what you feel is a good enough timeline.
