We are having our wedding at Cancun Real. We are purchasing the Classic Wedding package - sunset wedding ceremony on the beach(4pm), reception on one of the terraces at 6ish. We are not having a cocktail hour.

Our WC is encouraging us to have the champagne toast/cake immediately following the ceremony, before pictures.

This seems a little out of schedule. Anyone else doing this or are you waiting until the reception to do toasts and cut cake?

The only advantage to this that I find is that it will save us a little time in our 3 hour reception.

I really appreciate any feedback on this as we are really struggling with this!

We are doing a champagne toast right after the ceremony, then a cocktail hour while we take pictures, and then we are doing cake cutting right when we get to the reception. I think it sounds fine to do it right after the ceremony. Especially if you aren't doing a cocktail hour before dinner.

So, you think it would be ok to actually eat the cake during this time? Or, I was thinking maybe doing the toast & take pictures of the cake cutting then saving the cake for during the reception.

If you do the cake before all the pics, you can't do any of the messy cake eating traditions ...
