I saw dancing on the pictures that I saw, I think my guest will be doing more drinking than dancing at the cocktail hour though.

Im hoping to get the unlimited as well, but if not im not doing them lol Dinner at the restaurant will be the obvious choice its really expensive if you dont get the amount of rooms needed. And Im not trying to spend any extra money if that was the case I would have done traditional, you know what I mean!!

We have most of our locations finalized... trying to make a few changes, but this is what we have for now! We are expecting 150-200 people, so we had to get creative about where we could have all of our events...

  • Welcome Party -- Sunrise Beach
  • Garba (Traditional Indian dance party) -- Tortugas Ballroom
  • Wedding & Lunch -- Tucan Gazebo, Terrace, and Garden
  • Cocktail Hour -- Lake Terrace
  • Reception -- Tortugas Ballroom (I'm hoping this gets moved to Star Ballroom)

I've already been working with Zuniga to start talking about layouts in the ballrooms and starting to explain what kind of decor I want... so it's just now starting to come together!

We're definitely flying in our photographer, hair/makeup/henna person, and possibly a few live musicians... but we're looking for local videography, dj services, and florists... any recommendations?

I'm also very interested in what menu items you guys pick... we're bringing in an Indian caterer for some of our events/menu items, but then because we'll have the free events, we want to maximize the food off of the MP menu too... so def let me know what you pick!

150-200 people?  WOW!  Seems like its going to be quite an event.  I didn't know there were locations that could handle 200 people (other than some of the large ballrooms)?

Im also sort of surprised they are going to allow you bring in so many outside vendors (photographer, hair/make-up, a few live musicians and a caterer)?  They ok'd all of that?  I guess if you are bringing 200 guests to thier resort, they may be ok with allowing some extra outside vendors.

As for recommendations for your requests:

local videography - most of the local photograhers have a decent video package, check out LaLuna and DelSol (or any of the Featured Sponsors)

dj services - I would start with DJ Mannia...seems to be a favorite of that area

flowers - maya diseno floral does a great job, and are very reasonable compared to the resort pricing

Thanks! I actually looked at La Luna and Del Sol, but I don't think they've ever done Indian weddings before, so that's why we're bringing our own photographer, but I'm willing to chance it a little more on videography...

So, when I said we're bringing all these people with us, they're coming for multiple days (i.e. hair/makeup, photographer, musicians, priest, etc) and will be staying as guests at the hotel... so technically not outside vendors at that point... the only exception they made for us (so far) is the caterer. We are using a local Indian caterer that is just bringing in food for most of our events...

I'll definitely check out DJ Mannia.

I did hear about Maya Diseno Floral, but aren't they considered an "outside vendor"? So how do you go about using them? I guess I could get my bouquet and the bridesmaids bouquets through them and have them deliver "packages" to each person on the day of... but how about for centerpieces...?

As far as maya diseno floral goes, I know some people actually sent one of thier guests (or bridesmaids) down to thier shop to pick up thier flowers, and bring them back.  Also, another bride said she just had them tell the front gate they had a delivery for her, and they let them right in to drop off flowers.  I don't know if there is anyone in your bridal party or guest list that may have the time to take a cab down and pick up the flowers?  You could try that, or see if they can deliver them.  Marvin from Maya Diseno has worked at Moon Palace before, so he must have an idea of how to get his flowers in?

What I was sent from my Miami contact was that just Fountain Terrace and Moon Terrace can't have dancing.... But I wasn't given Caribbean Terrace as an option??  What is that? lol
