sarah, when I saw your shout that you got your MP book, I was scratching my head thinking, I thought she usually used Shared ink? now I get it, lol!

You said something about a photographer account on shared ink, is that right? Could I ask how much it is? (I could have read your post wrong too!)

I've never used iphoto either, so i don't know. I've also seen a snapfish book, and that's similar to the MP quality. They are relatively inexpensive.

I also didn't care for the extra blank page at the end, especially since it has the MP website address on it. But, I actually think SharedInk does that too, unless you're using a photographer account. All of my books through them have been with a photog account so I don't know for sure.

I just made a book for a friend through SharedInk. We ordered it last Friday, and she just got a shipping confirmation that it will arrive on Monday. So, maybe their turnaround is getting faster. That is definitely one thing that bothers me- it takes so long!

I'm in the process of researching flushmount books right now. I'd really like to make one for my wedding album. We'll see...they are soooooo expensive, even just at "cost" no wonder photogs charge so much for them!

I paid $130. It's really only worth it if you think you'll make multiple books...which I'm sure I will.

Yeah iphoto is a apple thing but I saw a link to iphoto on Mypublisher. These are all new to me so just trying to figure everything out. My FSIL does all of her editing and photography stuff on a Mac so I thought iphoto might work best but if there are other books that are better quality I would like to use them.

I'm an Apple/Mac/i-whatever person too. I don't own a Mac right now, although I'd love to... I always like the products they release. I just checked out their website, and they look relatively easy to use, and offer really good tutorials online. I don't know about the quality though. It doesn't look like it'd be shotty work at all, but its tough to know if you'll be happy with it until you get one in your hands! I'm half tempted to try iPhoto now...

I've seen an iPhoto book and I think that's what we're going to use to make albums for our parents. But honestly I've never seen the other ones so I wouldn't be able to compare and say they are better or worse than the MP or SI. I remember discussing the iPhoto books with Jonathan - I will try and find the link.

Jess - iPhoto is a mac program that lets you make albums and then order them directly from your program (over an internet connection of course) from Mac's printer. Other companies (like MP or SI) can also accept the iPhoto "album" (meaning the album/file you created on your computer) and then they print it using their own materials. I don't know if that explains it...

So if you decide that you like one of the other publishers your FSIL could put the album together on her Mac using iPhoto but could technically have it printed elsewhere...
