Travel Agent Quote

Recommended Posts

Hi ladies, I'm hoping someone out there can shed some light on my situation, as I'm very new to this.

A few weeks ago, I received a quote from a travel agent for three resorts that I was interested in. The quote was for the cost of one week away at an all-inclusive resort, including taxes. The resort I liked was actually the least expensive, but the quote was for mid-April next year and I was interested to know the pricing for the beginning of May.

I asked the travel agent to look into quotes for later in April and the beginning of May, as I wanted to compare the pricing. The quotes came back for these weeks, as well as another quote for the same week in mid-April that had been referenced in the first quote. Except this time the quote for the same week in mid April was significantly higher - several hundred dollars more. The only difference is that this quote arrived approximately 3 weeks later.

Does anyone know the reason for this large difference in price?

It's usually the time. Depending on the week and day the prices can be different. Like resort in Mexico is more expensive in May, June, July and August as opposed to Sept, Oct, Nov. Also when prices first come out they are usually higher as opposed to waiting a few weeks (that's what my TA told me).
