Non-traditional toast?

Recommended Posts

We are not having a cocktail hour but we still would like to incorporate a signature drink into our reception. Since there is such diversity in what our family drinks, it would be difficult to come up with a drink that everyone would enjoy.

The bride and groom get a champagne toast with their package and it is going to cost about another $175 to get champagne for the rest of the guests. None of our guests really enjoy champagne.

Would it be totally tacky to have the guests toast a signature "shot" rather than champagne? I was thinking of getting shot glasses as one of the wedding favors.

Or, should we go with the tradition of champagne, even though it really isn't enjoyed? Or, third option, toast to a signature drink, even though it might not be a drink everyone enjoys?

And I guess option four, can the guests toast with whatever beverage they have in hand??

Anyone have non-traditional toast ideas or should we just stick with tradition? Thank you!!
