Self planned wedding without a coordinator?

Has anyone planned a wedding without a wedding planner, or intends to plan the entire wedding themselves?

 

I've heard that having a wedding planner is great, but since I will be having a pretty small wedding I'm thinking about going without one.

 

Right now I'm considering having the ceremony at either a private villa or a restaurant, so I would need to find someone to do the setup / decoration and tear down afterward. Any suggestions?

There are many brides (including myself) who have planned their wedding without an outside wedding coordinator. You can use the "search" function in the top right hand corner to search for key words, reviews etc.... to help you with your planning. Good luck

I was thinking of doing the same thing! The FI and I just bought a house and hiring a wedding coordinator outside of the one the resort provides is just not an option for us.

I didn't use one outside of the resort but my TA is wonderful and very helpful almost like a wedding coordinator and this website has been very helpful.

Thanks for the advice. If I were going to have a resort wedding I would just use the coordinator provided, but since it's going to be a private venue I wasn't sure if I would need one. I think I should be able to get by without one thought (with the help of this forum, of course!)

I'm going without a coordinator as well...call me crazy, but I think it's fun figuring everything out ourselves :-) Good luck !

I most certainly think you can do it on your own. There are so many knowledgeable brides on here to help you through it. I'm doing the planning on my own but am also getting married at a resort. There are many vendors on this forum who live in Cabo that are more than willing to assist as well. Good luck!

If you're having your wedding at a private venue I would say definitely hire an outside wedding coordinator. YOu don't want to have to worry about arranging flowers, tables, etc... on your wedding day. We had ours at Dreams and there was a WC at the resort that did all the work...otherwise I'd have hired someone.

You can handle planning it but you may want someone to help you coordinate the actual day itself. Will cut down on soo much of your stress!
