I am not sure how many have put down a deposit yet, hopefully my travel agent will let me know in the next month or so.
Regarding the invitations, I'm still unsure how early to send those out. I have a lot of friends getting married early summer and I still haven't received invitations from them, but then of course they aren't getting married in Mexico. Personally I was thinking about sending out the invites around August (3 months beforehand)...because if they REALLY wanted to come, you think they would have looked at my STD and website and started the booking process...but maybe I'm wrong.
When is everyone sending out their invites?

I was thinking of sending them out in June with a RSVP date of August. This way I have 3 months to plan for OTT bags, favors and all the last minute little things.

I think I'm going to send mine out this summer, probably the beginning of June. With an RSVP date of the end of July. I just feel like by the end of July people will know whether or not they're coming. And that way I have time order things based on the number of people coming.

I sent out my save the dates last week and it directed them to the website which also mentioned what date they have to book by in order to receive our group rate. And how to contact out TA, etc.

Karen, that's awesome that you already have 22 booked! I wish! We only have verbal RSVP's... I just wish they would go ahead and book! I want to add the number of people booked to my signature, but that would be super awkward... Bride + Groom + Bride's parents = 4

Don't get discouraged! My signature started out with only 6 and 2 of them were me and my FI...lol!

I was honestly surprised how many people starting booking after I sent out STDs. It really reaffirmed our decision to do a DW. FI was very hesitant in the beginning whether anyone would come and I am so grateful that he has relaxed about that now :)

I sent out STD's with RSVP's the first week of January. I'm actually thinking I am not going to send formal invitations now, maybe just information pamplets for those that said yes. I made the preliminary RSVP date April 1, b/c most people either know they are coming or not. I've gotten a pretty good response so far and about 20 people have booked. Seemed to work for me.

Sorry this is the first time that I started to second guess our decision for a DW, I can deal with the stress of planning and the lack of response from wedding coordinators, etc. but did it make anyone else feel like what is the point of going crazy over this if no one will be there to enjoy it? Sorry to be a bummer.

It is always a little surprising the amount of guests that choose not to attend the wedding. I think most people get around 20-30 people (from the reviews), but you never know. People like to book late. You can always ask your travel agent if they've had any inquiries? Either way, I always like to remind myself that it really doesn't matter how many people come, as long as those closest to me are there. It could just be me and A, and our immediate families and I would be more than fine. Having additional friends attend just puts some icing on the cake.
Have you thought about having an AHR (at home reception) in case a lot of friends don't come? It seems some people choose that route. Just have a potluck, a keg of beer or some bottles of wine and you can all celebrate your wedding.

Hello fellow Suites Bride. Nicole has been great so far! My save the dates are going to go out first week of April so once they are out I will feel much better. I feel like I can't plan anything until people start booking. Everyone has told us they will be there but until I see them booked I dont beleive it. How is your planning going?

My FI and I were like hawks getting everyone to book. We emailed and called and send out the reservation form to everyone invited. If they didnt get it back to us we called them again. It seems everyone likes to wait until the last possible minute. We didnt use a TA so all the work was on us. We only invited close friends and our whole family so we felt comfortable MAKING them fill out the reservation form (there was no downpayment). So far we have 32 rooms booked (about 64 people). Now its getting everyone airline tickets. We have filled the only direct flight from CHI to PV on the thursday we leave!
