Hello Everyone,

I am trying to book/schedule my BD shoot and have decided to go to a hotel. Did anyone ask for a discounted rate since they were only there for a few hours? I feel awkward asking for a lower rate but they can clean it real fast and have someone else check in by the time I'm gone.

Has anyone done this? What price or how much of a discount should I ask for?

As always THANKS for your help!

As a BD photographer, I have tried to negotiate with hotels for this... however I will admist, most are NOT willing to do anything. In fact, I've had a few hotels who refused to let me book a room once they found out what was going to be going on!

So, you can always ask, but be prepared to be told no, and possibly to not be allowed to rent a room!

I was going to suggest the same thing...most higher end hotels in Denver have a "day rate". It is about half to two thirds the full nightly rate. And I'm talking the Brown Palace historic hotel, Westin downtown, Hyatt and Ritz Carlton. ***I know this because I have to book half days for my companies officers to "get away" during board meetings. No harm in asking!

they do the same thing in atlanta for all the business peeps. maybe you could ask for this and just not tell them what youre doing in the room just in case they dont like "sexy pics" or pics in general.

I would totally NOT tell them what you are doing. Many of the hotels won't let you have a session there if you tell them, or will let you do it but charge you MUCH more. Whenever I do a photo session, I just book the room and leave it at that.

Another option is to get a few girls together to do your session, and have them split the cost of the room for the night.
