Just got back from shooting a wedding at the royal and visited the Gran porto. Lets just say you will be happy getting married in Playa del carmen . Very cool spot. And the Bride found the same issues that you are having and acctually when she arrived got the WC at the royal bent over backwards to get her into the gazeebo. All worked out in the end.

As posted in another post by Del Sol photography... try to have your wedding guest sit outside the gazebo for better photos.
