I actually lost 12 lb in 7 days, today was my offical weigh in day! I think most of the reason I lost so much is I've been so busy at work I don't even have time to eat nor think about what I'm actually eatting at my desk for 5 minutes while writting an e-mail. You can pick up the south beach book for about $6 from your local book store. It's a low fat no carb diet, me and my FI are doing it together. He lost almost 8 lb!! He's all about the diet, he signed up for SouthBeachDiet.com and posts on the blogs and gets recipes while I'm on her bloging about the wedding LOL.

I know where Rockland County is, I used to drove through it all the time driving to SUNY Oneonta from LI. I live in North Brunswick by Rutgers. Wow so jel, I wish I had a shore house. Where is it?

Hi Ladies,

I'm new to this thread. I just started the South Beach diet last week and lost 10 lb in 7 days. My goal is to loss 30 more lb before my wedding on 12-3-11. I also signed up for personal training sessons at the gym

Diamond Girl, I need to get ready for our BD shoot!! Where do you live? We should meet up at a park and for a long walk in the spring :)

Wow!! 10lbs in 7 days?!?! That's freakin awesome!! Did you get the book? would you have recipes to share? If you continue eating well and keep up with the personal training, You'll be ready before summer!!

Yes, I also am prepping for the BD shoot. I've stepped up my cardio and eliminated some food choices from my diet because I was apparently consuming too much carbs. LOL We'll see what happens after this revision.

I live in the town of clarkstown in Rockland County, borderline NJ. I also spend a lot of time at the Jersey Shore from spring, throughout the summer. I have a beach house there. That sounds like a plan!! We can do lunch and chat :) Where in NJ are you?

That's incredible!! Keep up the good work. I'm definitely going to buy the book. I have an idea where North Brunswick is, although i'm still getting familiar with NJ. The house is in Brick, on the Bay side. We're between Pt Pleasant and Toms River. I spend my whole summer there. We got tired of throwing money away on hotels every summer and so we decided to purchase a beach house. Totally worth it :)

I finally got the south beach diet book!! I actually got two. I got the south beach diet, good fats good carbs guide and the latest south beach diet super quick cook book!! Can't wait to start.... Will begin tomorrow woot.gif

I want to lose about 22 lbs. Everyone thinks it's too much to lose. I currently weight 152 lbs and everyone I look like I weigh 130 lbs. I'm barely 5'2 and my height calls for weight between 115-132. I'm FAR from it!! LOL although I know some of my weight is mostly muscle because I do workout and always been an athletic person. Gotta lose it!!

hey ladies!  I posted on here back in Aug, but here is my update

Down 10 pounds.

I started the Paleo diet about 2 months ago.  Basically cutting all grains, sugar, salt and anything processed out of my diet.  I also went organic. And I feel 100% better!  I have so much energy.  It was easy for me b/c I love veggies.  But the best part is, I've learned to cook healthy fun stuff...like spaghetti squash!  Taste like pasta, but no calories!  and it's a veggie!  or Cauliflower "mashed potatoes" and "fried" plantains.  I'm telling you it's the best thing I've ever done! and there are a ton of recipes online.  This is my favorite website

http://everydaypaleo.com/

I have always work-out so that hasn't really changed much.  4-5 days a week, cardio and weights. I also cut back on the booze.  Only once a week which is my cheat day.

I did WW in 2010 and lost 20 lb and gained 10lb back during the holidays. You should do the online WW it's great so many recipes and helps you keep track of your goals. Good luck let me know if you have any questions.

Although I'am a 2012 bride I have still started my workout regiment. I'am pushing to loose 15pds, tone majorly & gain strength. My engagement party is May 14, 2011, so I want to show off my figure by then and maintain it there after. Pushing forty isn't easy. I have been back @ the gym now three weeks, it's like ridding a bike. I'am so focused that scares me. Don't want to loose too much weight. What I do is place my wedding dress in front of me when I'am on the cardio machines, which I'am so addicted the elliptical machine. I find that that helps me to loose weight faster. I go to the gym @ least four to five days out of the week, I even go twice in one day out of the week am & pm. My eating habits have changed as well & I go to be fairly early, so I won't be tempted to eat late snacks or food. Far as my snacking I get the weight watchers jello, lil cakes, almonds, drie cranberries, rice cakes w/peanut butter & etc... Determination I have, but my most joy comes from the gym doing cardio & lifting weights.

Strong minds; strong bodies.....Stay focus Ladies..... Good Luck!!!

Spin classes are fun!  or Zumba!  I use to hate working out too, I started with taking classes, but I get bored easliy.  My FI is a trainer so I get him to write me out different programs and stuff.  I'm lucky that way. BUT if I'm eating poorly, I get the guilt look.

Thanks for the words of support ladies! This is only my first week on WW, and I like it so far.

I've done many ridiculous diets in the past (namely the Dr. Bernstein Diet and Atkins) and the thing I like about WW is that I do not have to cut out any foods. I can eat whatever I want, BUT am accountable for what I eat. Yesterday a co-worker brought in lunch for me as a thank-you for a favour I did for her, and it was Lamb Korma and rice (my favourite Indian food!). I ate it, and enjoyed it, but suffered for the rest of the day because I had used so many of my daily points!

The other thing I really like is that you ARE NOT ALLOWED to set your long term goal from the strat. They make you hit 5% and 10% weight loss before you can set your long term goal. It's nice to look forward to small goals, like a 5 pound, 10 pound, 5%, 10% weight loss. It is overwhelming to think I need to lose about 50 pounds to be in a healthy weight range for my height (I'm 5'10, so my weight should be between 139-172).

I'm trying not to thing of this in terms of "oh no my engagement party is in 3 weeks" or "I want to be this size by my bridal shower" or "my wedding is 6 months away" and just live it instead. I want to make this a lifestyle choice, so that a year from now, I'm able to pick up and take a holiday and not be worried about wearing a bathing suit!

Ok, that's my rant for now. My meetings are on Wednesdays for WW, so I'll post my weight on Thursday mornings for those that want to follow along. I'm excited to see those numbers on the scale go down!
