Its crazy cheap, it shocked me when they told me. The dance floor will hold 40 people at 1 time and will gots $65 Canadian to bulid and lay out. The DJ is included in my dinner package.

I love Cuba, I think everyone should get married there, they bend over backwards for you, and charge you next to nothing to do it.

Wow, only $65! That's great... I'm not too sure but I bet they won't give me that good of a deal at my resort smile27.gif

I remember reading in someone's review of the Bahia that it cost $550 to have a reception by the pool. This is exactly what it said "We rented a DJ and a bar with Bartender for the after party. It was located next to the main pool in tulum.Best $500.00 I ever spent. Dinner was at the Gran Tortuga, and the steak was perfect, in my opinion."

I would actually like to have my dinner by the pool, but I didn't think that was an option. Then again, I didn't think renting a dj and a bar was an option by the pools either!

Has anyone done this? If so, could you post pictures of your setup? I'm trying to give our WC an idea of what we want to do.

Thanks so much!!
we are having our reception on the beach. The location fee includes a dance floor. Have you thought of renting one?
this is the standard set-up at the Mayan in PV

ooohhh!!! I LOVE that reception set-up. Very classy -- not your normal 'wedding' look. Can I come? :-)

Amyh, That is EXACTLY what I'm looking for!!! Darn, I should've researched the wedding setups better before we chose our resort.

Tlseege, thank you for that! One thing I don't want to do is have to pay for a bartender... I hopefully want to setup close to the beach/pool bar (save some $$$ you know).

I was planning on just making everyone go to one of the lobby bars that has live music and dancing... or the piano bar. That way I don't have to pay for alcohol at an AI!!! However, a nice reception by the pool would be wonderful! Sadly, all of those bars close around 10 or 11, if not sooner (I can't recall what time) so I think if you'd want them open you'd have to pay extra. But, who knows! Maybe that $500 was for the DJhuh.gif

It wasn't anybody on here. I believe it was off of Trip Advisor... but I can't find it now! I'm sorry!

A really good idea would be to contact Claudia Rodriguez (photographer that shoots at Gran Bahia ALL the time) and ask if she's done any weddings with an outdoor reception.

Who is your photographer by the way?
