Hi all,

I am working on creating our invitations and RSPVs. Our wedding is set for Nov17th,2010. We are in the middle of waiting to get quotes from our TA. I have NOOOO idea of what kind of time frame I should give my quests to RSVP. I am thinking mid August. THat should give us time to order favors, tags, chair sashes etc.. that is guest dependent.

Or should I factor in the book by...date the TA would likely give us? Maybe I should include both.. as a FYI booking before ....to take advantage of the group rate or ... otherwise we appreciate RSPV by ....

I have many relatives that are in Europe (ok all of my mom and dad's immediate family is in Europe; my sis, mom and dad are the only ones here in Canada). So I imagine IF some are to come, they would be booking through their travel agent so I might have to make different RSVP cards for them.

Is anyone using their wedding website to ask guests to RSVp? eg. mail out an RSVP but ask if they can reply via the website or by phone to...

thanks in advance for the suggestons/ideas and feedback.

We are getting married 10-09-2010 and we are doing online RSVP. The actual RSVP card will have our website and a phone number for those who do not have internet access. Our reply date is July 1, but our group rate is only good until May 15th ....so we are including an enclosure card going over the travel information/contact and deadline for the group booking rate.

this has been my experience so far...

we decided not to use a group rate quote for our guests because it was outrageously high compared to if you went online yourself and booked the trip (i'm talking like $500+ per person). we have a wedding website and requested online RSVP for guest to either our mexico wedding ceremony and our at home reception. we mailed out STD's to all of our guests 7 months in advance and with less than 3 to go...we have had 3 couples RSVP on the website. i know how many people have booked the trip so far, and others are still deciding. we are sending out formal invitations with an RSVP only to our AHR reception. hopefully we will get a better response the traditionally way. we are sending out the formal invites 8 weeks in advance as a reminder for guests who didn't book yet, and we have requested the RSVP for the AHR to be in one month before the reception. we are having it less than 3 weeks after we get back and i need to notify our vendors 14 days in advance of final numbers.

good luck with what you decide to do. be prepared to have to contact people personally. if you don't have their email or phone number try to get it beforehand so you aren't left closer to the date trying to get a hold of the one's who didn't reply.

also...if you are mailing out STD/invites overseas check in with guests that they received it, or have a family member do so. i know some of our postcard STD did not make it at least 5 of the guests. lost in the mail somewhere.
