Lake Placid

We are planning to honeymoon in Lake Placid, NY, just a few hours from where we are getting married. We are both big into the outdoors, so we will probably stay in a hotel or lodge in Lake Placid but spend our days hiking and kayaking. I think we are going to stay for about 5 days. Any recommendations for things to do in the area?

Hah, I guess our original idea is not a popular place to go!

 

I think we are going to delay the honeymoon now and go on a cruise in Feb/Mar of 2011.

I grew up around Lake Placid, and it is very beautiful, especially in the fall. I guess since I grew up around there I could never picture myself honeymooning there!
