when to send out STDs

I'm not getting married until Oct of 2009, but my TA offered a deal that if people booked before 8/15/08 she would give them a discount so I sent them out 2 weeks ago.

I will send mine out 1 year in advance. Don't know when the wedding is yet though.

I am getting married July 31, 2009 and I am getting ready to send my STD's next month!

I sent mine out on June 13, 2007 and my wedding is not until Oct 11,2008.... Its good to give them enuf time to save and make plans of there own... I think the earlier you send them the better, but not every family is the same... Do what you think works for you & your family.

I'm glad this is being discussed. I'm not getting married until Feb 1, 2010 and we're going to send out save the dates out in August. We need to put deposits down in January already so we're giving people roughly 4 months to think/decide and then we know how many deposits to put down. Obviously there will be slow-pokes though...

We are sending ours out a year in advance to allow people time to save for the trip and think about how they will use their vacation time for the year. I dont think it is ever to early, STD cards are really just a heads up.
